What You'll Do At
Position Summary... What you'll do...
Automation Integration: Identifies common issues and considerations for bringing a new automation design to a facility. Works with teams to measure and manage project performance. Documents implementation plans and estimates for projects. Documents project implementation meetings,particularly status reports on next steps. Participates in the development of technology interfaces and bridges. Works with existing interfaces and integration and migration plans within assigned area. Prepares integration tests. Measures and compares results with established test criteria.
Automation System Design: Promotes the usage of automation machineries. Participates in implementation and training. Conducts cost-benefit analyses of machineries. Monitors actual versus planned. Consults on the use of advanced machineries for automation of supply chain processes.Helps develop and implement long-range automation plans. Works with multi-function and automating machineries that perform multiple and complicated tasks enabling time reduction of supply chain processes.
Mechatronics: Creates views of objects in 2 and 3 dimensions. Creates perspective drawings and orthogonal views. Uses design and visualization to perform basic drafting (for example, wire frames, solid objects, array of objects). Flips and scales objects within drawings. Integrates multiple objects within the environment. Generates specifications for parts or components with design and visualization software. Participates in projects that modify existing electrical systems, equipment, and components. Assists in drawing circuit diagrams and defining electrical installation specifications.Operators Programmable Logic Controllers in order to communicate, monitor, and control automated processes (for example, assembly lines, machine functions, robotic devices). Performs the basic design, installation, maintenance and testing of electrical systems, equipment, and components.Analyzes the feasibility, design, strength, and performance of automation equipment. Conducts investigations into faulty machine operation,equipment failures, and difficulties. Follows guidelines, standards, and safety procedures in the mechanical design process. Participates in designing,testing, implementing, monitoring, and repairing mechanical components.
Engineering Economics: Advises others on a variety of financial tools, techniques, and approaches. Builds multiple business cases in order to provide comparisons and fully realized options. Conducts and documents analyses of a variety of financial data and cost drivers. Oversees financial analysis to evaluate automation and systems performance. Evaluates financial data and ensures return-on-investment performance according to financial plans. Anticipates the potential impact of decisions based on financial data analysis.
Data and Digital Literacy: Leverages data analysis tools to explore highly complex data, develops and tests hypotheses, uses data to influence strategic work, and builds and presents insights. Identifies, implements, and drives technology change within scope of work. Use visualization tools to represent data and construct coherent stories to influence decisions.
Advanced Analytics: Evaluates the quality of data collected and the effectiveness of data analysis methods. Provides solutions to data requirements in the data analysis process. Tests and evaluates multiple solutions, methods, and models to determine accuracy, validity, and applicability.Establishes standards for the application and interpretation of statistical data. Analyzes complex data elements, systems, data flows, dependencies,and relationships to contribute to conceptual, physical, and logical data models.
Operational Excellence: Evaluates relevant industry practices from an operations perspective. Works to resolve obstacles to goals of several organizational functions. Advises others to carry out responsibilities based on understanding of key organizational functions. Designs awareness programs for multi- and cross-functional issues of the regulatory environment. Facilitates interrelationships between major functions and subfunctions.Recommends efficiencies in operational functions and One Best Way documentation wherever possible. Monitors organizational compliance with policies and procedures. Facilitates communications across departments to ensure a smooth workflow in the facility and related partner functions.
Partnership and Collaboration: Builds, maintains, and enhances effective internal and external partnerships. Influences outcomes and assists in communicating shared goals with diverse groups and parties. Identifies and addresses additional partner needs and educates partners on value creation. Communicates with other individuals or teams to solve shared problems. Identifies how changes in business strategy impact talent and recruiting strategies. Consults regularly with leaders of business unit(s) to advise on strategic talent decisions. Brings ideas and solutions to the business and team members. Promotes diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
Business Acumen: Develops, evaluates, and implements proposed business cases for projects and initiatives. Influences business stakeholder decision-making. Translates business requirements into strategies, initiatives, and projects, aligns them to business objectives, and drives the execution of deliverables. Demonstrates deep expertise of multiple business units/organizations being supported. Builds and articulates the business case and return on investment and delivers work that has demonstrable value. Challenges business assumptions on topics related to assigned domain expertise. Develops new, organization-wide processes and ways of working. Teaches and guides others on best practices. Process Flow Design: Contributes to plans for integrating partner and supplier transactions. Demonstrates awareness of company-wide innovations,processes, and activities for supply chain networks. Explains key supply and manufacturer partners, the intention and construct of the partnership,
and potential complications. Assesses associated phases, activities, deliverables, and processes. Collaborates with partners for the purpose of process design and optimization. Specifies problems in the implementation of sustainable supply chain approaches. Trains others to identify and implement required infrastructure to support specific processes. Participates in the design and implementation of a supporting organizational structure. Leads a variety of types of business process design initiatives. Redesigns or enhances business processes to meet regulatory requirements. Demonstrates mastery of reengineering concepts, methods, and tools. Assesses potential implications of reengineering for multiple functions or departments.
Project Management: Consults on project planning and management of high-risk, high-impact projects. Champions Walmart project management methodologies, tools, and techniques. Monitors the industry for fresh approaches and tools for project management. Monitors major projects for critical path and actual status versus planned. Governs open communication among project stakeholders. Builds a strategic roadmap that identifies and leverages synergies and manages multiple high-risk, high-cost projects involving multiple stakeholders.
Influential Communication: Leads discussions with varying viewpoints. Presents to and influences diverse audiences across divisions using appropriate frameworks/tools. Leverages fact-based data and analytics insights from multiple finance and business domains to build a cohesive narrative, form an argument, organize thoughts, and present in a clear, concise, and meaningful way. Demonstrates superior decision and coordination skills when faced with conflicting or ambiguous inputs. Acts as a trusted advisor to diverse business partners, influencing them to act as needed to move the business forward. Provides timely feedback to others.
