The Role: Senior Consultant – Energy Transition and Decarbonization - USA
The Location: Houston, Boston, Washington DC, New York.
The Team: The Americas Energy Transition Consulting Team is a trusted advisor of leading companies in the traditional and new energy sectors, investor, and governments. We advise governments and companies with their energy transition strategy, decarbonization roadmaps, as well as cleantech commercial advisory.
The Impact: This role will contribute to the execution of our team’s projects for private and public sector clients with a focus on their transition to low-carbon energy resources, including techno-economic analysis of emissions management options and decarbonization opportunities, as well as developing new low-carbon energy resources.

Responsibilities

• Build and run analytical tools and models as required for consulting projects (e.g., Excel, Python, others)
• Participate in clients or industry participants interviews and extract key takeaways
• Work on a project team with other consultants, under the direction of the project manager
• As a senior consultant, drive new analysis (excel models, workstream lead) and provide feedback to more junior team members
• Contribute to business development and internal practice development initiatives
• Participate in client meetings and contribute by presenting aspects of the analysis
• Develop client-ready deliverables in PowerPoint and/or Word

What We’re Looking For

• Proactive and organized, with strong verbal communication skills
• Three to eight years of experience in industry, consulting, or finance environments, in areas related to emissions estimates and management, environmental management and/or plant operations
• Experience in management consulting will be a significant plus
• Strong written and oral presentation skills in English (Spanish or Portuguese a plus).
• Solid analytical skills (Excel [required] /VBA/SQL/Python [a plus]) combined with problem - solving skills with ability to synthesize and communicate findings
• Familiarity with energy markets and underlying fundamentals, regulations, and policies; specific experience and/or knowledge of specific segments of the energy industry preferred (especially power, energy storage and battery expertise)
• Some travel is required average around 20% of time (but could occasionally be more)
• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field and excellent academic record required; Graduate degree preferred (including in finance, economics, or business).
• Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment providing ideas and open feedback.
