About The Team
The Merchandising Analytics team is a part of Enterprise Analytics & Data Science (EADS), a centralized group that is responsible for delivering data-driven insights & models to the Petco business. Within the Merchandise Analytics team, we focus on the products that Petco sells, and how we can make better decisions at scale. This can include evaluating which products to sell, identifying where they’ll sell best, establishing KPIs to use while evaluating performance, creating experiments to guide decision-making, and much more.
About The Candidate
We are seeking a talented Senior Data Analyst to join our Merchandise Analytics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for building and maintaining complex data models, performing advanced data analysis using SQL, and creating compelling data visualizations to communicate insights to stakeholders. The Senior Data Analyst will work closely with cross-functional teams to provide data-driven insights that inform business decisions. Key Responsibilities

• Perform advanced data analysis using SQL to extract insights from large, complex data sets.
• Guide junior members of the team and support the development of a rich team culture.
• Build and maintain complex data models to support business analysis and reporting.
• Work with data engineers to ensure data quality, consistency, and integrity.
• Create compelling data visualizations to communicate insights to stakeholders, using tools such as Looker, Power BI, etc.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide data-driven insights that inform business decisions.
• Identify and prioritize opportunities for improvement in data infrastructure and reporting.

Requirements

• Experience working with cross-functional teams in a collaborative environment.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively translate complex data insights into actionable recommendations for business stakeholders.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, statistics, mathematics, or a related field.
• Strong proficiency in SQL and data modeling.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Experience with data visualization tools such as Looker, Tableau, Power BI, or similar.
• 3-5 years of experience working in a data analyst or business analyst role.

$87,100.00 - $130,700.00
Exact rate of pay will be based on position, location, and experience level.
