About the Role:


The Senior Accountant will report to the Senior Manager and will be responsible for assisting in all areas related to the month-end close. This position will directly own monthly entries for cash, certain accruals and certain inventory related areas, implement control and process improvements, and assist in researching and resolving complex accounting issues as they arise.


Priorities can often change in a fast-paced environment like ours, so this role includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:


  • Prepares the monthly and quarterly journal entries, including but not limited to the following: COGS/expense accruals, inventory activities, fixed asset activities, cash-related activities, and intercompany transactions
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies and procedures related to month-end close and assist in the design and implementation of new controls and processes
  • Provide support for internal and external audits related to specific areas of responsibility
  • Prepares the applicable MTD, QTD, and YTD roll forward reports
  • Responsible for performing day-to-day accounting operations (AP including 3-way match, GL Account Reconciliation, Cash reconciliation, etc.)
  • Maintain up-to-date process documentation and procedures as assigned
  • Responsible for the month end close on inventory and COGS balances; record month end adjusting entries, maintain consolidated balance sheet account reconciliation schedules and utilize available analytical tools to ensure the accuracy and completeness of the company's financials
  • Assist in the development and implementation of scalable accounting processes to facilitate timely and accurate financial reporting
  • Partner with the other areas of the business including Operations, Sales, Education, and Marketing to assist with accounting various recurring transactions
  • Responsible for performing monthly general ledger closing procedures including account analysis and reconciliations and reconciling subledger activities
  • Participates in the preparation of SOX documentation and audit schedules for both internal and external audits


About You:


  • Excellent knowledge of US GAAP and experience with SOX
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting is required and a CPA license is a plus
  • 2-5 years experience in public accounting or a public company, preference for experience within CPG or related industries
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel, is required
  • Ability to multitask and work with tight deadlines.
  • Experience with Netsuite ERP is a plus
  • Ability to prioritize effectively and communicate conflicts to affected parties
  • Must be very organized, detail oriented and able to work under tight timelines
  • Occasional travel may be required.
  • Good written & verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity with Ecommerce, Direct-to-consumer, B2B business models, preferred
  • Ability to work independently and team when appropriate
  • Ability to self-manage is critical due to OLAPLEX's remote work environment
  • Ability to work extended schedules around key reporting deadlines: monthly, quarterly, year-end and bi-annual board meetings
