- Prepares the monthly and quarterly journal entries, including but not limited to the following: COGS/expense accruals, inventory activities, fixed asset activities, cash-related activities, and intercompany transactions
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies and procedures related to month-end close and assist in the design and implementation of new controls and processes
- Provide support for internal and external audits related to specific areas of responsibility
- Prepares the applicable MTD, QTD, and YTD roll forward reports
- Responsible for performing day-to-day accounting operations (AP including 3-way match, GL Account Reconciliation, Cash reconciliation, etc.)
- Maintain up-to-date process documentation and procedures as assigned
- Responsible for the month end close on inventory and COGS balances; record month end adjusting entries, maintain consolidated balance sheet account reconciliation schedules and utilize available analytical tools to ensure the accuracy and completeness of the company's financials
- Assist in the development and implementation of scalable accounting processes to facilitate timely and accurate financial reporting
- Partner with the other areas of the business including Operations, Sales, Education, and Marketing to assist with accounting various recurring transactions
- Responsible for performing monthly general ledger closing procedures including account analysis and reconciliations and reconciling subledger activities
- Participates in the preparation of SOX documentation and audit schedules for both internal and external audits
- Excellent knowledge of US GAAP and experience with SOX
- Bachelor's degree in accounting is required and a CPA license is a plus
- 2-5 years experience in public accounting or a public company, preference for experience within CPG or related industries
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel, is required
- Ability to multitask and work with tight deadlines.
- Experience with Netsuite ERP is a plus
- Ability to prioritize effectively and communicate conflicts to affected parties
- Must be very organized, detail oriented and able to work under tight timelines
- Occasional travel may be required.
- Good written & verbal communication skills
- Familiarity with Ecommerce, Direct-to-consumer, B2B business models, preferred
- Ability to work independently and team when appropriate
- Ability to self-manage is critical due to OLAPLEX's remote work environment
- Ability to work extended schedules around key reporting deadlines: monthly, quarterly, year-end and bi-annual board meetings
