Senior Accountant- On Site - Miami (Coconut Grove) - $100K

Title: Senior Accountant

Type: Direct Hire, full time

Location: Coconut Grove, FL (On site)

Salary: Up to $100K base plus discretionary bonus + equity

LHH Recruitment Solutions is working with a rapidly growing Florida-based private equity firm.

The position is an excellent opportunity for an individual interested in exposure to a full spectrum of accounting responsibilities including financial reporting, month-end close, account analysis, reconciliations, journal entries, support of annual audits and tax returns as well as managing payables and receivables. The ideal candidate is a highly motivated and talented accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced, small team environment, possesses strong analytical, business and communication skills, as well as demonstrates efficient organization and time management skills.

Responsibilities:

• Month end close process

• Maintaining the QuickBooks General Ledgers of multiple companies

• Supporting the preparation of the monthly financial reporting package for the partners

• Preparing intercompany and balance sheet reconciliations

• Reconciling Bank Accounts and recording cash receipts

• Preparing journal entries as needed

• Reviewing internal expense reports and credit card statements

• Managing Accounts Payable by reviewing invoices and communication with the various vendors

• Assisting with capital calls and distributions, including review of allocations

• Helping with quarterly investor reporting, and periodic investor requests

• Managing Accounts Receivable on a quarterly basis

• Working closely with the operational teams on deal closings and onboarding of new investments

• Providing support to the portfolio companies, as needed

• Supporting annual external audits of the financial statements, including preparing required schedules, and responding to auditor questions / requests

• Compiling year-end financial schedules/reports to send to various tax return preparers

• Reviewing tax return drafts to identify the book / tax differences and review income allocations

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting

• 3+ years of progressive accounting experience

• Active CPA license preferred

• Strong knowledge of GAAP

• Must be willing/able to commute to the office

• QuickBooks experience strongly preferred

• Strong work ethic/integrity and excellent attitude

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Desire/experience utilizing technology to simplify work processes and improve efficiency

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high attention to detail

• Ability to meet deadlines on a timely basis

• Self-disciplined with strong sense of urgency and commitment to producing high quality work

• Ability to research and resolve issues/problems

• Proficient at multi-tasking

• Proactive and a self-starter

• Ability to work independently with a wide variety of people, including internal and external clients

• Ability to work collaboratively and thrive in a small team environment

• Experience with creating/implementing policies & procedures, a plus
