Senior Accountant Jobs

Overview:

The Senior Accountant is a key role, responsible for analyzing the company’s recognition of various account balances, and income statement activity, as well as integrating the accounting of newly acquired companies. This role will also assist with the monthly and annual financial statement close and assist in the support of the annual audit. This is a new role and responsibilities may change over time.

Job Responsibilities

• Assist with annual financial audits, including preparation of revenue schedules and provision of supporting documents to the external auditors
• Accounts of responsibility may include prepaid, other assets, goodwill, acquisition accounting, debt, equity, and various accounting projects
• Prepare reconciliations of accounts, actively investigating reconciling items to resolve timely
• Key contributor in the monthly close process; prepare monthly lead sheets, reconciliations, and related journal entries, including project accounting for services under the percentage of completion
• Assist in the preparation of annual Consolidated Financial Statements, including creating audit lead schedules, reviewing supporting documentation, communicating issues to independent auditors
• Coordinate the identification and documentation of technical accounting matters, including accounting standard implementation, as they relate to the financial statements and provide assistance, support, and guidance to other departments and business units as needed
• Assist in the preparation of various internal reports and bank financial reports
• Assist in applying technical matters and guidance into practice
• Support Accounting Manager in the monthly closing, consolidation, and reporting processes to ensure a high level of data quality and accurate financial data
• Identify, develop and drive process efficiencies that improve accuracy, quality, and timeliness of financial data and other department deliverables
• Work closely with various internal departments to ensure an efficient closing and reporting process
• Perform analysis and coordinate with team members to resolve any differences
• This is a new role in a rapidly growing organization. As such, responsibilities may change significantly
• Able to work comfortably in a highly collaborative team environment
• Participate in identifying, designing, and implementing improvements to accounting processes and controls
• Participate in the integration of acquired companies’ accounting and GL into the corporate structure at a rapid pace
• Lead special projects and resolution of issues as needed
• Maintain records for daily, weekly, and monthly accounting transactions, including posting journal entries

Qualifications:

• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required
• Experience in multi-entity companies preferred
• Public accounting experience preferred
• CPA license preferred
• 3 years of progressive experience required
