Position Overview:

Become part of the Care.com Accounting team as a Senior Accountant on the general accounting team. As part of this team, you will be responsible for the preparation of various expense-related accruals for Care.com's international and domestic entities, as well as being the key point of contact for Care.com's German entity on the Accounting team. This position will report to the Accounting Manager.

What You'll Do:

• Responsible for various high-value accruals, including marketing, consulting, and IT expenses
• Generate manual and system-driven journal entries to be reviewed by the Accounting Manager and Assistant Controller, including the creation of vital analyses and back-up support
• Develop and improve accounting processes and reporting
• Help with the creation of financial statements, including related party transactions
• Provide accounting and reporting assistance to other cross-functional teams (i.e. FP&A, Marketing, Sales, Operations, Legal, IT, etc.)
• Maintain accounts and sub-ledgers and prepare balance sheet and income statement reconciliations, including the timely resolution of any outstanding reconciling items
• Responsible for various areas of the accounting function, including general ledger, fixed assets, intercompany, and more
• Communicate with German operations as the direct contact

Who You Are:

• Proactive, motivated, self-starter that is looking for upward mobility and progression in their accounting career
• Great teammate with previous cross-functional exposure who is able to liaise with various departments and levels every day
• Intermediate to advanced experience with MS Office applications, most notably Excel
• Knowledge of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (U.S. GAAP)
• Excellent analytic, time management, written, verbal and organizational skills with a proven ability to manage conflicting priorities to deliver a high quality work product required
• Ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment, to solve problems
• Fluent in German and German GAAP experience a plus
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
• 2-4 years of accounting experience, preferably at a publicly-traded company

Salary Range: $96,767 to $120,000.

The base salary range above represents the anticipated low and high end of the national salary range for this position. Actual salaries may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to work location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Care.com's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses and short- and long-term incentives.
