The Sales Tax and Insurance Associate will report to the VP of Tax and will work closely with the Indirect Tax Manager on sales tax matters, and will be responsible for sales and use tax reporting and related accounting. The Sales Tax and Insurance Associate will also oversee business license and secretary of state filings, insurance claims, insurance renewal, certificates of insurance and related projects. The position requires independent work and attention to detail.
Responsibilities:
  • Assist with tax issues from sales, customer service, credit/collections, and customers
  • Assist with information gathering related to insurance policies
  • Coordinate insurance claims as they arise
  • Prepare and file sales and use tax returns
  • Respond to government notifications
  • Oversee invoice tracking and payment for insurance policies
  • File miscellaneous local tax returns and business license renewals
  • Research product taxation and maintain customer exemption records
  • Handle requests for certificates of insurance
  • Assist with tax credit memo requests in Oracle
  • Research state registration requirements and oversee registration compliance
  • Involvement in special projects as they arise
  • Support third party with annual report information gathering
  • File state specific Workers Compensation reports

Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Risk Management or related fields
  • 1+ years of relevant experience
  • Strong computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Must be able to lawfully work within the US and have unrestricted work authorization for US
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Self-starter with ability to manage deadlines
  • Strong communications skills, ability to communicate effectively with all levels of organization
  • A healthy sense of urgency
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with corporate insurance policies
  • Computer skills with Vertex and Oracle. Knowledge of business licenses and Secretary of State registrations
  • Ability to establish priorities of work assignments
  • 2+ years of Sales and Use Tax experience
  • Highly organized
Compensation Range:

The pay range for this position is $55,000 - 89,000 if located in the United States. In the event this position is hired outside the U.S., pay ranges will vary and will be set in the applicable currency. Actual compensation will be determined based on geographic location, education, skills and experience. Please speak with the recruiter for more details.
