We are pleased to share that we have an exciting career opportunity for an experienced Fleet Contractor and Commercial Sales Leader as part of the Blue Bird Leadership Team. We do offer flexible work arrangements. Relocation will be provided for the successful candidate and we are flexible with that timing.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Blue Bird Sales organization is a key function supporting the growth and market success of Blue Bird. This role is responsible for the sales of School Bus Fleet Contractor and Commercial vehicles for the organization. This critical leader will visit prospective customers to stimulate interest in establishing or expanding vehicle fleet and commercial purchases as well as answer and respond to sales inquiries and/or requests for proposals promptly to obtain business. With a focus on the 3 Blue Bird Foundational Objectives: Take Care of Employees | Delight Customers & Dealers | Deliver Profitable Growth, you will work with other Blue Bird teams to achieve organizational objectives, and drive functional excellence and continuous improvement. You will leverage your success in partnering with the regional sales teams and support organizations across Blue Bird. You will be challenged to lead and deliver complex projects and well as improving all day-to-day activities at Blue Bird. This is a creative role.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct competitive analysis to understand product positioning and opportunities for differentiation
  • Prepare prospect presentations, documents, term sheets/proposals, pricing model, Master Supply Agreements
  • Develop go-to-market plan for new commercial vehicle business line, including competitive benchmarking, voice of customer, pricing model, channel partnerships, and service model
  • Negotiate, close and sign agreements in conjunction with cross-functional team
  • Build a strong sales and marketing program to drive growth of School Bus offering in fleet contractors across the country
  • Drive growth of new commercial vehicle business line through direct sales and marketing efforts
  • Develop and manage routine strategic reviews with key School Bus Fleet Contractors including technical roadmap, sales targets by powertrain, KPIs, and collaboration opportunities
  • Work with senior leadership to set business growth goals and objectives
  • Generate new business as a result of heavy direct communications with existing and prospective School Bus Fleet Contractor customer base
  • Interact directly with manufacturing and field service team to ensure highest quality and service levels are provided to fleet contractor customers
  • Conduct routine audits of fleet contract customer bus quality in conjunction with site visits to provide direct customer feedback and satisfaction

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of such fields as sales, marketing, business administration, and finance
  • Proven track record of delivering sales and customer service as an individual and team leader
  • Strong project management skills
  • Demonstrated business acumen, and relationship management
  • Self-motivated with ability to work both independently and within teams in order to establish and meet deadlines, goals, and objectives;
  • Results driven, highly detail oriented
  • Ability to communicate and interact effectively with different levels of the organization to negotiate, problem solve, complete projects and influence decision making
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Proficient leveraging multiple ERPs, Power BI, and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Able to lead, plan, prioritize, organize, and coordinate work with and through others
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Track record of driving improvements using a proactive approach to problem-solving
  • Significant influencing and collaboration skills across matrixed organization structure
  • Hands on work ethic with results focus is required

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Detail oriented and able to multitask
  • Strong prioritization and multi-tasking skills
  • Bachelor degree in Sales, Marketing or related business field required
  • Solid understanding of the business environment, market challenges and emerging trends in the school bus industry
  • Master degree desired.
  • 10+ years of school bus or commercial vehicle sales experience
  • Driven, enthusiastic, resilient, agile and highly motivated
