Job Description
The Balance Sheet Management Specialist is responsible for developing and maintaining key client relationships. This position will be focused on finding new client relationships within a defined territory and will have the opportunity to cross-sell Moody’s products as well as introduce new and expanded solutions. In collaboration with internal partners, such as Industry Practice Leads and Product Management, the Balance Sheet Management Specialist leads sales cycles for portfolio credit risk and impairment accounting solutions among insurance firms. This position is an excellent opportunity to join a growing team and have an immediate impact. Responsibilities
  • Illustrate a deep understanding of client decision-making approach, priorities and requirements.
  • Manage full lifecycle sales process which includes, identifying and initiating new sales opportunities by prospecting new clients and leveraging off existing client relationships, sales presentations and contract negotiations.
  • Position requires travel 50%+, when safe.
  • Act as the point of contact for c-suite and executive sponsors at the client company.
  • Generate new revenue from research, product and service solutions and defending & growing existing revenue streams.
  • Manage relationships with existing clients within the Insurance customer segment.
  • Provide current forecasts and pipeline information to management.
  • Work closely with Relationship Managers, Industry Practice Leads, Product Strategists, Customer Success, and other employees within the organization to leverage their appropriate expertise to the sales cycle.
  • Meet established revenue targets, while creating new and enhanced customer relationships ensuring satisfaction.
  • Ensure complete client coverage by calling upon domain specialists and other client-facing professionals where appropriate.
  • Represent the company at industry and company-sponsored events, as required.
  • Bachelors’ degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related area required, MBA preferred.
  • Ability to multi-task and meet short deadlines.
  • Knowledge of or experience working in the insurance or asset management fields preferred.
  • 3 - 7+ years experience in a sales role within in a software/services organization with a successful track record in sales, preferably selling solutions to the global marketplace.
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team environment, with focus and high attention to detail.
  • Strong presentation and negotiation skills as well as outstanding client relationship management experience.
  • Ability to influence key decision-makers during the full life cycle of the sales process.
  • Drive to exceed goals and motivated by achieving measurable results.
  • Positive, energetic, and relentless attitude for success.
  • Creative problem-solving skills and ability to diagnose issues and develop solutions.
  • Ability to sell on a needs/solutions approach.
  • Knowledge of CECL/IFRS9 and risk-based capital requirements for insurers is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.

For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is $129.200 to $187,400, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation. Moody’s also offers a competitive benefits package, including not but limited to medical, dental, vision, parental leave, paid time off, a 401(k) plan with employee and company contribution opportunities, life, disability, and accident insurance, a discounted employee stock purchase plan, and tuition reimbursement.
