Field Sales Engineer-RV hardware

Evan Industrial Hardware is looking for a technically inclined individual to operate as a Field Sales Engineer of RV hardware. The Sales Engineer's responsibilities include maintaining extensive knowledge of RV hardware and closing sales where technical expertise is required to meet customers' needs.
To be successful as a Field Sales Engineer, you should possess an in-depth knowledge of RV hardware and assembly technologies, and you should be able to relate this knowledge in a way that is understandable to customers in RV industry. You should be driven to achieve your sales goals and should have excellent sales, project management, and customer service skills.
This role will cover California territory and expand to other territories later. The Field Sales Engineer will be responsible for selling all Evan Industrial hardware products to existing and new accounts and providing a customer service level that meets or exceeds the customer's expectations.
What you'll do as a Field Sales Engineer of RV hardware:
Promote and sell our product lines by developing and maintaining viable long-term relationships with our customers.
Generate high-quality sales leads, following up after initial contact, securing orders, negotiating prices, completing sales, and executing projects through to completion.
Provide knowledge and consultation in the form of developing RV hardware and assembly related solutions for the customer's problems, including financial and performance-based considerations.
Research, develop, and modify solutions to meet customers' technical requirements and needs.
Continually work to achieve sales goals set by leadership.
Maintain accurate customer information and leads.
Actively participate in industry activities such as trade shows, conferences, factory trips, and manufacturer training.
Energetically take part in offered sales training and development programs
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required skills, experience, and knowledge:
Bachelor's degree in mechanical / electrical engineering or equivalent training and experience in a similar field.
2+ years' experience in RV industry and related field. Relevant technical experience
Strong sales aptitude, previous sales experience preferred.
Exceptional communication, interpersonal, customer service, and sales skills.
Excellent technical skills, and the ability to think creatively to support technical problem solving.
Good cross functional leadership and team working skills.
Competitive nature and a strong desire to win.
Willingness to continue your sales and engineering education.
Frequent Travel to customer job sites is required.
Our ideal candidate will find, contact, and follow-up with prospective customers. Once you discover the customer's needs and understand their interconnect pain points, they will discuss our product's technological capabilities and value. Experience with manufacturing and/or related products preferred.
Responsibilities
· Drives the sales, marketing, and business development activities
· Develops appropriate business strategies and sales tactics to protect and increase gross margins.
· Visits key accounts, new customers and prospects.
· Maintain in-depth knowledge of technology trends, the competitive landscape, customer requirements, and market demands
· Provide input and direction on new product development roadmaps and existing product enhancements and extensions
Establish, develop, and maintain business relationships with current customers and prospective customers to generate new business for Evan products/services, conduct routine calls on all assigned accounts, Improve Evan specification position and minimize competitors listed.
Track and influence projects from pre-design to close out phase, maximize sales of all Evan products, communicate project status to inside team and develop sales strategies to close orders.
Increase market share for new products, effectively coordinate sales efforts with management, Exhaust all options for urgent orders/quick ship opportunities, Identify product advantages and competitive threats.
Prepare and deliver sales proposals and follow up with key decision makers.
Host/participate in trade shows and conventions
Close sales with assigned accounts
Develop sales plans/strategies
Work with applications groups on technical and design issues
Follow-up on projects quoted
Coordinate quotes and submittal drawings with internal resources
Coordinate proper inter-territory involvement
Identify customer’s needs, adapt, and empathize with their concern
Customer Relationship
Professional and proper email/written correspondences, Acknowledge customer and other field requests, Be engaging and enthusiastic when speaking with clients, Develop and conduct routine product seminars, Develop action plans for improving assigned accounts.
Manage business relationships and identify impactful concerns, Ensure a quick turnaround of customer enquiries and the delivery of services.
Develop plans for introducing new products
Coordinate and manage projects internally and externally to ensure smooth completion, Develop tactics to improve relationships/sales.
Properly maintain opportunities via company CRM.
Resolve customer issues timely and completely and assist in problem solving calls with inside sales team
Provide detailed project updates, on time, for monthly sales meeting and work closely with Project Management team.
Qualifications

2+ years sales experience of similar products; Local experience preferred
Knowledgeable of industrial hardware, fastener and assembly technologies
Utilizes strong product, competitor and customer knowledge to act as a consultant to targeted and established accounts
Excellent interpersonal, presentation & communication skills
A drive to respond immediately to customers.
Proficient in all Microsoft applications
Proven ability to communicate technical information to customers.
