Our technology solutions power the tools you use every day--including smartphones, electric vehicles, hyperscale data centers, IoT devices, and so much more. Here, you’ll have an opportunity to be part of a global leader whose innovative designs are pushing the boundaries of what’s possible and powering the future.

We believe that innovation and growth are driven by an inclusive culture and a diverse workforce. We’re dedicated to empowering people to be their true selves. Together, we’re building a better tomorrow for our employees, customers, partners, and communities.

What You'll Do

OVERVIEW & IMPACT:

Samsung Interface Lab (SIL) is looking for a Senior Logic/FPGA Design Engineer with experience in high-speed and high-precision hardware platform prototyping and system bring-up.

SIL is an R&D lab that aims to develop new technologies for deployment in mobile and TV displays and camera sensors, including automotive applications. A critical step in the development cycle at SIL is creating prototype systems that serve as proof-of-concept demonstration vehicles of the technology. Such prototype systems often incorporate SIL proprietary ASICs or other forms of IP at their core.

The Senior Logic/FPGA Design Engineer will have a central role in implementing the prototype systems in collaboration with a team of digital and analog engineers.

Job Responsibilities

  • Participate in debug and characterization of SIL-developed ASICs through test automation and measurement enablement.
  • Prototyping of digital systems using FPGA evaluation boards
  • Participate in RTL code development of digital blocks and/or IP blocks.
  • System bring up and characterization

Qualifications & Required Skills

  • PHD plus 4 years or MSEE/MSc plus 6 years of logic/FPGA/hardware design, test, and bring up.
  • Experience with signal integrity and PCB S-parameter measurement.
  • Experience in test and characterization of high-speed or high precision systems.
  • Experience in system prototyping using FPGAs.
  • Background in test automation and test planning. Familiarity with Python programming is a plus.

Prefered Skills

  • Experience in package design.
  • Good understanding of high-speed I/O signaling performance metrics such as jitter, eye mask, etc.

Additionally, we look for the following universal qualities in all candidates:

  • Devoted Professional: you are diligent and deliberate in your work, leveraging your expertise to deliver results without ego
  • Avid Learner: you thrive with challenges, seek continuous growth and improvement, and seek data to prove your hypotheses
  • Resourceful Achiever: self-motivated and proactive, you flex to try new approaches and creatively solve problems
  • Thoughtful Collaborator: you build relationships across teams, offering help and welcoming ideas from others to drive work forward in an inclusive manner
