This Opportunity

Be involved in projects with our Safety & Security Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges.

WSP is currently initiating a search for a Safety Technical Specialist, Transportation to join our national team. This position is able to sit anywhere in the United States.

The ideal candidate will be a certified Transit Safety and Security Professional (TSSP) and have a minimum of 3 years' professional experience within the transportation and/or transit industry, specifically with Federal Transportation Administration (FTA), Transportation Security Administration (TSA), or Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) experience.

Your Impact

• Support development and coordinate project proposals responses for potential clients.
• Support Safety and Security Risk assessments for projects or programs including safety certification.
• Support management of Safety Team projects.
• Support safety and security team staff on projects, as needed.
• Provide client interface, coordination and project updates.
• Support WSP projects that require safety and security expertise.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

• Transit Safety and Security Professional (TSSP) Certification Preferred.
• Demonstrated writing and editing skills.
• Bachelor's Degree or Masters' Degree in transportation safety, engineering, planning or another related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in transportation related projects, public rail, transportation security and /or emergency management projects preferred.
• Experience with Federal Transportation Administration (FTA), Transportation Security Administration (TSA), or Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) requirements or guidance required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Excellent communications skills, written and oral.
• Proficient Microsoft Office skills, including Word and Excel.
• Experience or training in safety and security risk assessment and analysis.

Compensation and Benefits:

WSP provides a comprehensive suite of benefits including medical, dental, vision, disability, life, and retirement savings focused on a providing health and financial stability throughout the employee’s career.

Expected Salary: $61,000 - $128,900
