We are looking for a passionate and motivated Manager for the research program to join the Combat Casualty Care and Operational Medicine Directorate at the Naval Medical Research Unit, San Antonio (NAMRU-SA) in San Antonio, Texas. This position does not have direct reports.
As a part of the Combat Casualty Care and Operational Medicine Directorate, you will have the opportunity to support biomedical research that directly impacts the safety and well-being of Department of Defense personnel engaged in both routine and expeditionary operations. NAMRU-SA is one of the most prestigious research and development laboratories for the U.S. Navy, conducting gap-driven combat casualty care, craniofacial, and directed energy research.

Your Main Objective:
- Assist with the development and formulation of fiscal year budget requests for research.
- Assist Government personnel in initiating and maintaining regular IACUC/IRB requirements.
- Ensure Government prepared documentation is available for various research meetings.
- Confirm sponsored monthly, quarterly, and annual reports per sponsor guidelines and templates.
- Maintain and organize Government prepared research documents.
- Assist the Government with gathering information for research program taskers.
- Facilitate information flow between program members, scientific directors, and the Command.
- Assist with various research-related administrative tasks and track spreadsheets based on purchases made by the Government and/or the contractor for research-related items.
- Perform market research regarding study budget development and provide to Government for decision-making.
- Assist with gathering Government prepared documentation for contract actions and proposals and ensure completion per established policies and procedures.
- Track study expenditures and report financial status related to research under contract to the Government.
- Provide recommendations on labor/staffing utilization and workflow to increase efficiency and productivity.
What Sets You Apart:
- Due to Federal contract requirements, U.S. citizenship is required.
- Required to acquire, at a minimum, a SECRET classification access level. Preference will be given to a candidate who already has this clearance level.
- Experience in a military medical research laboratory.
- Candidates must have completed a Bachelor’s degree (with 7+ years of related experience) or a Master’s degree (with 3+ years of related experience) from an accredited U.S. university or international equivalent.
- Knowledge of IACUC/IRB requirements.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $66,300.00 - $102,000.00 - $137,700.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
