The Research Manager is an integral part of our Strategy team who will run branding, marketing, and desktop research (both public and database sourced) to support and collaborate with our Partnership, Strategy, Business Development and Client Management peers. In this role you have the opportunity to truly have an agency wide impact as you and the research you present will play a key role in evaluating the value of new industries and opportunities across the work we do.

Through this our agency will constantly be improving the quality of the thought applied to client business. In this role you truly have the ability to distill research into a data story, impacting decision-making that’s grounded in consumer and customer understanding.

ABOUT THE STORY HOUSE
The Story House team is dedicated to delivering impactful experiences for our clients. Our work takes many forms, including experiential activations, digital and social campaigns and sweepstakes, websites, instant win programs, and event-based technologies.
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Critical Thinking. You have outside the box, analytical thinking skills and use this to mine culture for trends, emerging signals and movements that are happening across the globe for experiential application. This in partnership with a technical understanding of research platforms will allow you to work efficiently.
- You have exceptional written, oral, and presentation communication abilities, not being afraid to push back on other recommendations if you feel it doesn’t align with the research you found. There will be times when you are not only sharing your research with internal peers, but also external stakeholders, remaining confident will make you even more credible and successful in this role.
- You have demonstrated success in influencing cross-functional teams and stakeholders with the ability to translate consumer understanding to insight. This will be important when you’re talking leaders through actionable insights and recommendations about customer and consumer needs, attitudes, behaviors, emotional connections to brands, and anything else that is important to drive purchasing behavior. Together developing and championing business objectives and strategies by providing guidance and identifying key business opportunities.
- Research. You can effectively conduct small and large research initiatives that include identification of business objectives, selection of method (primary vs secondary research), design of surveys, interviews, and other data collection instruments. This is crucial to be successful in this role as each project will be unique, having about 20% primary research, 60% category and consumer trend research from secondary sources, and 20% mentoring and developing other professionals within the agency.
