Summary about the lab/PI/projects –

Dr. Brohl is a physician-scientist with an expertise in rare cancers and background in bioinformatics/genomics research. The Brohl laboratory blends in-silico analysis using modern sequencing and array technologies with more traditional molecular oncology techniques. Currently, a focus of the laboratory is the study of the pan-cancer role of the chromosome 19 microRNA cluster across human malignancies.

Position Highlights:

• A Research Associate II position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Brohl. We are seeking a highly motivated, organized, and team-oriented individual that has a willingness to learn.

The Ideal Candidate:

• Demonstrates proficiency in basic laboratory techniques including cell culture.
• Has comfort working with mouse models of cancer.
• Familiarity and experience with bioinformatics research (e.g. next generation sequencing) is preferred but not required.
• Applicants with prior experience working in a research setting is required.

Responsibilities:

• The employee with assist the PI and other lab members by performing research and experimentation following established protocols.
• The employee will also be required to maintain detailed records, establish procedures, and process and analyze data.

Credentials and Qualifications:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
• Bachelor’s Degree in biology or related field
• Minimum 1 year of hands-on research experience is required

Schedule: Full Time, Day Shift, Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm
