Join a dynamic and innovative team at a leading graduate school in child development! We believe in the transformative power of equitable policies and support for diverse educators, children, and families.
You'll play a crucial role in supporting data collection and analysis, project coordination, and administrative tasks across multiple research projects. This is a full-time position (with negotiable options) expected to start in September 2023 and run until at least March 2024, with the possibility of an extension. This opportunity can be a fully remote or a hybrid in-person experience in the vibrant city of Chicago, Illinois.

Responsibilities
Research Duties:
Engage in regular project meetings via Zoom and maintain consistent communication via email.
Organize and manage multiple projects efficiently.
Assist in building databases and organizing various forms of data and information.
Participate in participant recruitment for research projects.
Ensure proper handling and storage of research data and materials.
Contribute to qualitative and quantitative data transcription, entry, cleaning, and analysis.
Collaborate on study products, such as presentations, reports, policy briefs, and journal articles, with opportunities for co-authorship.
Project Coordination And Administration Duties
Schedule and coordinate meetings, taking clear notes and adhering to study timelines.
Act as a primary contact for verbal and written communications with team members, research partners, and community members.
Contribute to drafting administrative documents, including IRB protocols, contracts, grant reports, and recruitment materials.
Perform other assigned duties to support the team's goals.
Qualifications
Required:
Passion for policy-relevant research in early care and education settings.
Experience working with economically, culturally, and linguistically diverse communities.
Flexibility to attend occasional evening/weekend meetings with granted flex time.
Strong organizational, interpersonal, and management skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within groups.
Computer literacy, including proficiency in word processing, email, and videoconferencing.
Bachelor's degree in social work, administration, early childhood, human development, public policy, public health, human services, or a related field.
Training in basic research methods and/or prior research experience.
Preferred
Familiarity with planning, organizing, and coordinating research activities, including IRB protocol development and/or grant writing.
Prior knowledge of early childhood education, child care, and family policy.
