As our global footprint continues to grow , we are currently seeking a Renewables Software Sales Executive, Energy Forecasting, based in the US, Canada, or Mexico, to grow our energy forecasting business.
As a member of the sales team, this position will be responsible to sell our wind/solar energy forecasting services and subscriptions among plant owners, utilities and system operators.
What you’ll learn & achieve::
  • Maintains ongoing relationships after initial sale has closed in order to effectively convert service renewals
  • Works with account managers on discovery and opportunity identification for assigned specialty products / services
  • Uses technical credibility to build relationships with buyers and centers of influence, in support of GAM, SAM and KAMs (serving Global accounts)
  • Provides input to account owner during account planning process on potential growth opportunities within assigned solution area
  • Coordinate with sales and marketing teams the daily sales activities.
  • Serves as main point of client contact for energy forecasting services throughout sales cycle
  • Serves as primary point of contact for specialty products / services, responsible for articulating value proposition and managing client interactions
  • Makes connections and builds trusted advisor status with relevant account owners
  • Collaborates with subject matter experts in gathering customer requirements
  • Sell solar/wind energy forecasting services to new renewable customers - typically developers, utilities, Independent Power Producers and solar/wind operators.
  • Contributes to the development of strategy and sales plan, input on customer needs, pain points, trends, etc. to product / service manager
  • Identify prospective new customers and work with product leads to establish positive business relationships and present the complete offering suite.
  • Proposal preparation in response to RFP’s as well as following up on existing open proposals and opportunities.
  • Collaborate with counterparts in other segments to identify and exploit synergies from existing clients. Establish regular channels of communication.
  • Work with the rest of the sales organization to identify opportunities to cross-sell forecasting services to existing advisory and other software clients.
  • Maintains ongoing plan to prioritize portfolio of accounts and maintain relationships throughout the year, identifying opportunities for renewals. Under moderate guidance, performs demos and advises customers on how to integrate software into an existing IT environment
  • Introduce and present the product offering portfolio to potential customers as well as follow up with them about trials and other inbound leads and requests with the goal to close sales.
  • Brings in additional technical resources (e.g., engineers) when needed to support sales opportunities of assigned specialty products / services
  • Specific to the customer’s current technology platforms and systems, communicates value proposition based on highly technical knowledge
  • Attend regular departmental and team meetings; participate as appropriate in regular industry groups such as required.

  • Total Rewards: The target annual pay range for this position is $99,750 - $133,000 which includes a base salary of $57,000 - $76,000 and 100% on target performance.Members of the sales function are eligible to participate in the UL Solutions Sales Incentive Plan. The annual target incentive for this position is 75% of the base salary, paid quarterly, and is contingent upon performance. Employees are eligible for health benefits such as medical, dental and vision; wellness benefits such as mental & financial health; and retirement savings (401K) commensurate with the standard rewards offered in each individual location or country, for the relevant position level. We also provide employees with paid time off including vacation (15 days), holiday including floating holidays (12 days) and sick time off (72 hours).
