Must Haves:

  • 5-13 years of industry experience as an electrical engineer supporting power generation (wind, solar, natural gas power plants, water, carbon capture, etc.) and/or oil & gas projects
  • Exposure/knowledge of one or more of the following: ETAP, SKM EasyPower, Aspen
  • Voltage: 15kv and below
  • Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering (ABET accredited degree)
  • EIT or PE



Plusses:

  • ETAP, SKM, EasyPower, and/or Aspen
  • Relay and protection experience



Day-to-Day: A client of Insight Global is seeking to add Mid-Level Electrical Engineers to its growing team. The Electrical Engineer will be communicating with clients, working independently while providing mentorship, production support and leading renewables, power, solar, and water projects.



  • Researching and analyzing requirements from various engineering standards, contracts and proposal documents
  • Developing familiarity with departmental design standards, applicable engineering codes, and company policies
  • Preparing basic engineering calculations and drawings following company standards
  • Checking manufacturer's wiring drawings, one-line diagrams, schematics, data sheets and similar drawings (vast majority of daily responsibilities)
  • Coordinating electrical equipment contracts directly with equipment vendors
  • Coordinating work with other engineers, designers, project managers, construction personnel and vendors
  • Providing draft equipment specifications for major electrical equipment
  • Performing bid evaluations
  • Maintaining engineering records and lists as required
  • Developing and managing cable and termination information utilizing plant design software
