Relationship Manager Opening
We have a rare opening for a new Relationship Manager at TrainingPros. We have a strong selection process and will only consider candidates who meet certain qualifications:
The Skills and Experience
To be successful, an RM should bring a strong combination of all or most of the following skills and experience:
- Demonstrated ability to diagnose business issues, define solutions, and close on the opportunity
- Seven to ten years of professional experience in corporate Learning and Development.
- Active in local professional organizations (e.g., ATD, professional associations, leadership roles in professional organizations, etc.)
- Demonstrated experience working independently or in a small company of 50 employees or less.
This role is ideal for the L&D practitioner that wants to be an independent consultant but also wants team members and a support structure. Most of our relationship managers are past clients that have chosen to leave corporate jobs and work with us.
The Company
TrainingPros, a nationally recognized leader in providing Learning & Development staffing services throughout the U.S. is looking for Learning & Development professionals interested in building a profitable business with our help. The certified woman-owned, Atlanta-based company is expanding its Account Management team members/owners by one lucky candidate.
The Business
A Relationship Manager (RM) is a business partner to TrainingPros with each having responsibilities.
TrainingPros responsibilities include:
- Acting as “the bank” – we pay the consultants and invoice the clients.
- Providing Marketing, System, and Operations support.
- Assist with business development activities.
- Providing necessary qualifications to procure service agreements with Fortune 1000 corporations.
Relationship Manager / Partner responsibilities include:
- Writing periodic industry blog posts.
- Matching the best consultant to any open contract position.
- Performing Business Development activities as requested.
- Volunteering for internal Innovation Teams.
- Networking (Professional Associations, Trade Shows, etc.)
- Utilizing social media as prescribed.
- Managing accounts as prescribed.
- Finding open contract positions.
- Adhering to TrainingPros branding standards.
- Screening 5 consultants per week for work with clients until 250 have been screened at a minimum. Then screenings can be “as needed”.
The Keys to Success
- An attitude of abundance rather than scarcity.
- Willingness to use social media and involvement in local and national professional organizations to build brand awareness.
- Willingness to go through 5 weeks of training and apply the training to your daily activities.
- A successful Relationship Manager should exhibit most or all the following traits:
- Entrepreneurial spirit and attitude.
- Self-starter.
- Willingness and desire to become deeply involved in a local professional organization.
- Willingness and ability to leverage existing relationships to both grow their business and to seek referrals.
Education & Professional Development
- Bachelor’s or graduate degree preferred.
- A demonstrated history of ongoing professional development.
Employment and Compensation
- Relationship Managers are required to have an S Corp or LLC and sign a partnership agreement with TrainingPros. If accepted by TrainingPros, the candidate will sign a contract and set a start date with us and begin 5 weeks of training with daily assignments. For the first 12 months, the RM will receive a monthly retainer of $5000 if all activity requirements are met monthly. All pay after 12 months is based 100% on commission and commission can also be earned the first year in addition to the retainer. There is no cap on the commissions that can be earned. Many Relationship Managers earn well above $200K consistently after their second year while making their own hours and directing their own work.
Interview Process
- First, the candidate will speak with our Recruiting Director. If approved, the candidate will have at least two interviews with the company president and take a DISC assessment. Lastly, the candidate will interview several existing Relationship Managers and the candidate should try to have all their questions answered about the role. If all parties want to proceed, an agreement will be signed and a start date set.
We are only seeking one RM in 2023 and will be selective. This is an excellent opportunity to be your own boss while having a support team and work colleagues.
