Position is eligible for Flexible Work Arrangement (FWA)
Purpose
This position is based in the Printmaking Area but also supports the Painting and Core Areas of the department. Primarily oversees the maintenance, and safe lab management of the four print studios.
Responsibilities
  • Supervise and train student lab monitors
  • Takes one-on-one meetings with Graduate students and individual meetings with students for assistance and teaching
  • Maintain a safe lab environment including the handling and disposal of environmental and hazardous materials and rags, and record of MSDS
  • Order and track expenses using Excel budget of Course Fees account, Equipment account, Paper Store account, and GAPP account. Track inventory of equipment, materials/supplies, etc.
  • Assist with the Guest Artist in Print Program, Explore UT, and related department events/visitors
  • Have a strong working knowledge of all printmaking techniques and provide technical assistance, maintenance, and safety training to all users of Print facilities
  • Responsible for overseeing and/or performing maintenance, installation, renovations, operations, and organization of equipment, furniture, tools, etc., in five print spaces, Painting Studios and Core Studios.
  • Coordinate the scheduling and monitoring of print lab use for undergraduate and graduate students
Required Qualifications
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of, and experience in the field of printmaking
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage shifting priorities
  • HS Diploma/GED + 4 years experience OR Bachelor of Fine Arts
  • Discretion in confidential matters
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and PowerPoint and Adobe Creative Suite
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Fine Arts + 2 years admin. experience.
  • Masters in Fine Arts
Salary Range
$32,000 fixed (pro-rated at 30 hrs./week from $42,666)
