Boulo is recruiting for a Regulatory Compliance Officer to join the team of our client, a startup investment manager founded by industry leaders investing in mid-market energy transition Infrastructure and associated clean energy projects. The company raises, invests and manages investments in both equity and in tax credits (particularly investment tax credits under theI inflation Reduction Act).

As an institutional investment manager, the company operates within a dynamic but often strict regulatory regime. As they shape products and solutions for investors, push marketing materials and communicate with investors, they must take great care to comply with the appropriate SEC and other governing bodies.

Employment type: Contract (possibly contract to hire)

Flexibility: 100% remote (preference to candidates local to New York City)

Hours: 15-20 hours per week to start

Pay: $55 - $85 per hour

Responsibilities Of The Regulatory Compliance Officer Position

• Oversight and management of typical compliance needs for an investment advisor / fund manager
• Collecting key information from team members and working with external supporting firms to synthesize the appropriate filings.
• Overseeing the regular compliance filing and disclosure schedule
• Implementation of a thorough compliance system and process
• Issue spotting as products are developed and marketing materials, PPMs and investor agreements are created.
• Liaising with institutional (not retail) investors.

Requirements for the Regulatory Compliance Officer position

• Must be authorized to work in the United States and have United States residency at the time of application
• Experience with MS PowerPoint,, Excel, etc, as well as electronic document management systems is helpful.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills will be key to working in this small and dynamic team.
• Must be a self-starting, enthusiastic team player
• 5+ years of experience with regulatory compliance legal work with investment manager regulatory issues

As a small company, this role can also grow to include interesting and complex partnership structuring, project finance, tax and other activities. The compliance and other legal needs are broad, and thus this role can be shaped with much flexibility for the right candidate. The company values the person over the role and will happily explore different ranges of compensation, days per week, and hybrid structures. Ideally, the candidate will be located in the general NYC vicinity and be able to join the team in our midtown Manhattan office at least a day a week in order to be alongside our team, contribute to and experience our culture and establish a warm working relationship with others.
