As the Regional Distribution Center Manager, your essential job functions include the following:
Manage Distribution Center Performance
  • Implement and direct programs to ensure the safety of all personnel, and comply with OSHA and MSDS regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with company standards of sanitation, maintenance, security, housekeeping (5S), and equipment/facility safety in a manner that assures their most efficient operation.
  • Direct the operations of the assigned regional distribution center management team to achieve prescribed objectives.
  • Evaluate the distribution centers and 3PLs in a specific region for operational and system integrity, and their use of established best practices. Develop and implement appropriate action plans.
  • Ensure that preventive maintenance is completed in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Proactively evaluate fleet and drivers for safe operation and professional appearance through periodic ride-alongs and evaluations.
  • Maintain professional appearance and safe operation of fleet.
  • Meet and exceed safety, service performance, inventory accuracy, and cost control KPIs, while contributing to the attainment of the sales goals.
  • Ensure the timely delivery of product to customers and the effective response to customer requests, problems, and requirements.
Continuous Improvement
  • Investigate and troubleshoot challenges faced by distribution center teams and provide coaching for continuous improvement.
  • Recommend process enhancements and evaluate them for inclusion into the standard operating procedures.
  • Innovate and drive continuous process improvement and provide change leadership to improve safety, customer service, accuracy and efficiency.
Leadership, Mentoring, and Coaching
  • Invest time and resources to increase organizational capability and capacity.
  • Reducing costs by eliminating waste, reducing complexity and streamlining processes.
  • Hiring and assimilating top talent who add capability and have potential beyond immediate position.
  • Improving team performance by driving and managing to high standards.
  • Delegating significant responsibilities and empowering staff to act while providing hands on coaching.
  • Directly supervise all distribution center managers in the assigned region to include: on-site visits, staff meetings, performing annual performance and compensation reviews, building development plans and conducting regional meetings.
  • Building management skills among staff and preparing the next generation of Dealer Tire leaders.
  • Provide direction and assistance to the Human Resources Department in recommending programs for hiring, training, professional development, performance management, promotions, wage increases and terminations.
  • Removing obstacles and roadblocks that thwart execution at lower levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership to acquire and build talent through:
    • Hiring and assimilating top talent who add capability and have potential beyond immediate position.
    • Delegating significant responsibilities and empowering staff to act while providing hands on coaching.
    • Building management skills among staff and preparing the next generation of Dealer Tire leaders.
  • Apply sound communication and motivational techniques and create programs to coach, develop, recognize, supervise, counsel and discipline subordinates.
  • Maintain a personnel structure and staffing level to meet goals and deadlines in an effective and efficient manner.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership to execute with quality through:
    • Improving team performance by driving and managing to high standards.
    • Reducing costs by eliminating waste, reducing complexity and streamlining processes.
    • Removing obstacles and roadblocks that thwart execution at lower levels of the organization.
Collaboration and Administration
  • Act as a liaison between regional distribution centers, other departments, and top management to ensure adherence to company standards and objectives and lead change initiatives.
  • Participate in development of annual budgets.
  • Develop and manage a system of controls to ensure service levels and operational performance goals are met within prescribed cost. Ensure all locations achieve cost per unit.
  • Collaborate and provide input into programs designed to drive efficiency, accuracy, service and safety through space utilization, equipment usage and automation.
Self-Development
  • Continuously strengthen technical and behavioral competencies through self-development activities and application of operational knowledge.
Other Duties as Assigned
Position Requirements
  • Thorough knowledge of P&L.
  • Strong organizational skills along with excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Supervisory experience in multi-site warehouse operations is preferred.
  • Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with the ability to drive results.
  • Knowledge of Transportation is considered an asset.
  • Proper use of all company safety equipment as required.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years supervisory experience in distribution or related supply chain experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Logistics, or related field. Masters degree preferred.
  • Bilingual English and Spanish is a plus.
  • Meet the requirements of Dealer Tire’s Motor Vehicle Record Policy and Company Vehicle Fleet Policy.
  • Efficiency in all Microsoft Office products.
  • Experience and familiarity with launching and utilizing WMS and ERP systems.
  • Ability to develop effective relationships, provide leadership and integrate diverse organizations and individuals towards profitability objectives.

Physical Job Requirements
  • Lifting at least 40 pounds.
  • Extensive travel (>50%) is required. Travel may be required by auto, flight, and rail.
  • Occasional lifting, bending, twisting, and crouching.
Drug Policy
  • Dealer Tire is a drug-free environment. All applicants being considered for employment must pass a pre-employment drug screening before beginning work.
  • There will be random drug testing for all Dealer Tire warehouse employees.
