Summary
This role is a direct report to the Vice President of Operations and will support the East Region for our Aerospace, Defense & Energy division. The position is responsible for managing, training and on-going evaluation of sales staff. In addition, this role will prospect new customers using the appropriate guidelines, including updating the database.
Major Responsibilities
- This position requires the ability to travel at least 70% of the time (in or out of state) to customer facilities to engage in current and future business activities, or as frequently as needed.
- Coordinate sales meetings; submit reports on activities, competition, process, service, quality, new accounts, etc.
- Develops a working knowledge of SFDC and leads the sales organization from that platform
- Responsible for follow up calls on budgeted accounts while maintaining acceptable levels of communication and business relationships.
- Understands the aerospace and defense OEM and supply chains and the standards that are used including Nadcap.
- Responsible to openly and regularly engage with supervisor to discuss the flow of business.
- Prospects new customers using the appropriate guidelines, including updating database.
- Plays an essential role in annual budgeting process.
- Supervise the execution of customer satisfaction determination procedures. Analyze results and recommend corrective action and process improvements.
- Supervise submittal of all required reports on a timely and accurate basis including pipeline and forecast reports.
- Review appropriate technical information through trade journals and industry reports to remain informed on current market intelligence.
- Responsible for managing, training and on-going evaluation of sales staff.
- Coordinate sales effort between all Bodycote locations.
- Conduct seminar presentations to develop and inform new and existing sales accounts.
- Assists regional management structure long term (3-5 years) operating strategy based on feedback from customers and industry trends.
- Assists General Managers in obtaining settlement of customer claims in some cases as needed.
- Owns the safety KPIs and drives the sales team to do what they can to support safety
- Perform daily sales calls to customer locations, including prospects and secured customers.
- Represent company at functions/meetings such as ASM, MHTA, SME, etc.
We Are Seeking Candidates With The Following Qualifications
- Education – Bachelor’s Degree in business or engineering is preferred or equivalent extensive training and experience in the industry is required.
- Must possess ability to maintain a high level credibility while portraying a positive company image.
- Must be able to read/interpret blueprints.
- Familiarity with commercial, aerospace, ASME, ASM and military specifications is required.
- Requires a proven, successful track record of supervision, marketing skills, sales techniques, and general business practices.
- Must have a current driver’s license and maintain in good standing.
- This position must satisfy ITAR compliance requirements, therefore candidates must be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Resident Card Holder.
- Requires effective communication skills for interfacing with salespeople, management, shop supervisors and customers.
- Must be sensitive to customer needs and maintain an excellent professional attitude at all times.
- Requires a thorough understanding of the technical aspects of heat treatment of aerospace alloys, including steel, aluminum, nickel, titanium, copper, brass, etc.
- Must possess knowledge of plant and equipment capabilities in order to provide desired service to customers.
