Job Description
Overview:
Welcome to Grayson College. Grayson College is in the heart of Grayson County and provides a vital link for higher education. GC offers small classes for personalized instruction, affordable tuition, caring, professional faculty, and the convenience of day, evening or online classes. The college serves approximately 5,000 students annually. Grayson’s reputation is highly respected by surrounding universities and industries as an excellent source of quality graduates who bring specialized, skilled and much-needed talents to the workplace.

Recruiter:
Recruits students to attend Grayson College through a variety of marketing activities and events. May work with general populations or when grant funded, specific populations as defined by the grant. Bilingual a plus.

The salary range for this position is $18.42 to $27.63/hour.

Responsibilities:
  • 10% Assists students with pathway selection, advises students on required admissions documents, gathers and processes admissions documents.
  • 10% Maintains accurate records regarding recruitment activities and prospective student contacts.
  • 5% Performs other job duties as assigned.
  • 20% Develops and delivers presentations presenting career and pathway information to students.
  • 5% Assists with new student orientation and advising as needed.
  • 40% Serves students as a primary representative of Grayson College; shares information about the college and the enrollment process in person, by phone, or electronic messaging such as email or text.
  • 10% Develops relationships with high school counselors, principals, educators, and local businesses to maintain ongoing connections and recruitment of students from a variety of sources.

Performance Measurements:
  • Complies with all state and federal regulations regarding higher education and recruitment of students.
  • Serves as a positive role model to prospective and current students.
  • Serves as an effective coach to help students overcome barriers.
  • Promotes the principles of diversity, inclusion, and equity in public education.
  • Connects students with resources as needed.
  • Continually promotes Grayson College.
  • Meets annual enrollment goals.
  • Demonstrates the Viking Values of balance, clarity, gratitude, service, teamwork, and trust.

Qualifications:
  • Work may involve motivating or influencing others.
  • Bachelor Degree or Associate's Degree with 1 to 2 years experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills,
  • Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities
  • A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact.
  • Provides a high level of service to the community.
  • Work involves extensive personal contact with others and/or can be of a personal or sensitive nature.
  • Six months to two years of similar or related experience.
  • Relationship building and marketing skills.
  • Bilingual a plus
