Real Estate Asset Management Associate

Position Summary
The Real Estate Asset Management Associate will use a data-driven approach to analyze performance across the business and work with senior leadership to identify areas for operational improvements and growth. You will play a key role in analyzing operational data, develop investor reports, create internal KPI reporting, and conduct market research and strategic analysis to support operational improvements and the launch of new projects. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who is analytical, thoughtful, collaborative and works well under pressure.
Reporting Relationship: This position reports directly to the Director, Investments & Strategy.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Develop ad-hoc financial analysis and cash-flow models to assist in making complex portfolio-level decisions
• Preparation and presentation of monthly operating and capital expenditure reforecasts
• Manage the preparation and development of weekly, monthly, and quarterly operational reports, working collaboratively with Acquisitions, Asset Management, and Finance teams
• Prepare market research reports to help inform each property’s competitive positioning relative to rents, occupancy and property attributes
• Assist with real estate marketing analysis and underwriting new investment opportunities
• Other ad hoc special projects
• Review weekly, monthly and quarterly operational reports and identify opportunities to improve performance
• Preparation and presentation of quarterly investor decks

Requirements
Qualifications:

• 2-4 years of investment banking, management consulting, commercial real estate and/or multi-family asset management experience
• Must possess the ability to work well within a team environment
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and a high level of attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong business acumen with a deep understanding of profit and loss statements for multi-family properties, as well as key drivers of property valuation and returns
• Must be highly organized, able to prioritize multiple concurrent projects and be able to independently identify and solve key business problems
• Exceptional analytical and financial modeling skills
• Experience using PowerBI, preferred but not required
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Data Analytics, Real Rstate or related field with strong record of academic achievement
• Experience using SQL, preferred but not required
• Understanding of the multi-residential real estate industry, with a demonstrated interest in a career in real estate
• Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and Powerpoint
• Knowledge of real estate deal underwriting and financial statement analysis
