R&D Test Lab Engineer I

As a R&D Test Lab Engineer, you will apply intensive and diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices to a broad area of design assignments. While working under the general supervision of an engineering manager, you'll have significant freedom to drive projects independently. A degree of creativity and latitude is encouraged and expected. You should be familiar with a variety of the mechanical engineering field's concepts, practices, and procedures and also have a strong grasp of good design principles. Experience with electromechanical devices is a plus but not required.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provides technical input/support relating to new product test methods.
• Provide technical as well as work direction to departmental employees.
• Authors and or assists in the creation of new test methods and protocols.
• Reviews test specifications, procedures, and process instructions. Maintain test equipment configurations and standardization.
• Aids in system and product reliability testing by confirming methods and procedures as well as designing required tooling.
• Develop fixturing/instrumentation to execute tests.
• Additional duties as required.
• Set up and execute testing as needed.
• Determines test methods, retrieve, and analyze data.
• Coordinate the requisition of appropriate test equipment as needed.
• Work with design, manufacturing, and quality engineers, to generate new test methods and protocols, or to modify existing ones.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM related field and no prior experience, OR no degree and 2+ years of experience in a lab or regulated industry.

Disclosure as required by applicable law, the salary range for this position is 62,700 to 93,500. The actual compensation may vary based on geographic location, work experience, education and skill level. The salary range is CONMED’s good faith belief at the time of this posting.
