About the Role

We are seeking an experienced, insightful and forward-thinking Quality Engineering Manager to oversee our small but mighty Quality Engineering team. We are focused on enhancing automation coverage and effectiveness across our portfolio of products. In this role, your primary responsibility will be to facilitate and oversee sound quality engineering processes in support of the entire R&D department. This is a leadership role and the ideal candidate will have a proven track record as a Quality Engineer, partnering with and influencing executives, managing complex programs, strategic and tactical execution of operational processes, a good understanding of project management, and strong working knowledge of Software Development.

You don’t need deep expertise with our entire stack but a working knowledge of these or similar technologies are crucial for success.

QA Tech stack: Robot, Python, qTest

Tech Environment: Java, Kubernetes, Docker, GCP, and/or AWS

Job Responsibilities:

• Partner with the Engineering, Product, and Cloud teams to define quality metrics, KPIs, functional testing, automation suites, and process improvements to make the release process easier and more scalable
• Be the advocate for testability, drive best engineering practices and defect prevention
• Understand the ins and outs of our product and identify gaps in test coverage
• Lead the improvement and implementation of best practices, methodologies, and tooling to meet quality coverage needs for products
• Drive the adoption of a quality mindset throughout Engineering in general
• Lead and coach a team of engineers to ensure quality and tests are applied across the development life cycle
• Building on existing and create new automation strategies to enable and drive Engineering teams to build automation at scale

Skills & Qualifications:

• Experience at smaller startups, scaling a product & team
• 7+ years total experience in quality or product engineering
• Experience implementing test automation frameworks, with technical expertise in the trade-offs involved
• 2+ years experience with managing high performing quality engineering teams
• Kubernetes and cloud experience a huge plus
• Experience with search architecture are nice to have

$150,000 - $195,000 a year

This salary range may include multiple levels. Your level is based on our assessment of your interview performance and experience, which you can always ask the hiring manager about to understand in more detail. Salary is just one component of Lucidworks’ total compensation package for employees.
