Position Summary:
This position will be responsible for working with a multidisciplinary team of health care professions who manage and monitor clinical documentation as it relates to nursing services provided. The QA RN is responsible for review and follow up of nursing infusion documentation from our contracted nursing agencies providing care to our patients.
Essential Functions and Duties:
- Operate office equipment: computer, scanner, printer, copier, fax, 10 Key, calculator, and phone.
- Act as a liaison between Nufactor and subcontracted nursing agency.
- Adheres specifically to all company policies and procedures, Federal and State regulations and laws.
- Work effectively with co-workers, internal and external customers and others by sharing ideas in a constructive and positive manner; listen to and objectively consider ideas and suggestions from others; keep commitments; keep others informed of work progress, timetables, and issues; address problems and issues constructively to find mutually acceptable and practical business solutions; address others by name, title, or other respectful identifier, and respect the diversity of our work force in actions, words, and deeds.
- Display dedication to position responsibilities and achieve assigned goals and objectives.
- Work in EMR environments to manage influx of subcontracted nursing agency invoices and nursing notes.
- Work with Clinical Nurse Educators and Clinical Nurse Coordinators to obtain accurate and timely documentation consistent with plan of care.
- Always represent the Company in a professional manner and appearance at all times.
- Provide education to subcontracted nursing agencies as needed in regard to required documentation.
- Comply with the policies and procedures stated in the Injury and Illness Prevention Program by always working in a safe manner and immediately reporting any injury, safety hazard, or program violation.
- Understand and internalize the Company’s purpose, display loyalty to the Company and its organizational values.
- Document findings of nursing documentation and communicates with the subcontracted nursing agency for follow up and correction.
- Evaluate nursing documentation submitted by subcontracted nursing agencies for compliance with required elements.
- Ensure conduct is consistent with all Compliance Program Policies and procedures when engaging in any activity on behalf of the company. Immediately report any concerns or violations.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Train internal and external staff as needed on quality assurance and regulatory-related issues.
- Display enthusiasm and dedication to learning how to be more effective on the job and share knowledge with others.
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
Required Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or a related field of study; or a combination of education and related professional experience preferred.
Required Knowledge:
- General knowledge of advanced concepts, practices and procedures related to home infusion nursing and pharmacy.
Preferred Knowledge:
- Familiarity with home infusion therapy and general home care nursing. Familiar with TJC, URAC and Medicare requirements as related to nursing in the home.
Required Experience:
- Must have at least three (3) years’ experience in in-home infusion therapy and quality assurance.
Preferred Experience:
- At least five (5) years of progressive experience in home infusion therapy and quality assurance.
Required Skills:
- Must have strong organizational skills.
- Must be able to multitask.
- Must have effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Must have the ability to work with limited supervision and as part of a team.
- Must have Microsoft Office skills.
- Must be able to function at high levels of autonomy.
- Must have a detail orientation and the proven ability to prioritize work.
- Sound decision-making abilities.
Professional Certification:
- Registered Nurse in good standing in state of residency. IgCN certification is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Vision, hearing, speech, movements requiring the use of wrists, hands and/or fingers. Must have the ability to view a computer screen for long periods and the ability to sit for extended periods. Must have the ability to work the hours and days required to complete the essential functions of the position, as scheduled. Must have the ability to lift and maneuver items of at least 20 lbs. Must have the ability to travel occasionally. Working condition include normal office setting.
Mental Demands:
Learning, thinking, concentration and the ability to work under pressure, particularly during busy times. Must be able to pay close attention to detail and be able to work as a member of a team to ensure excellent customer service. Must have the ability to interact effectively with co-workers and customers, and exercise self-control and diplomacy in customer and employee relations’ situations. Must have the ability to exercise discretion as well as appropriate judgments when necessary. Must be proactive in finding solutions.
