In this position…


The IPTS Purchasing team is responsible for delivery of sourcing for Powertrain components The IPTS/Engine Components Purchasing Manager will lead a team of buyers in developing and executing our strategy in sourcing components such as fuel tanks, fuel delivery modules, fuel filler pipes, carbon canisters etc. This role is one of five key leadership positions on this team.


Responsibilities


What you'll do…
  • Trusting and being trustworthy
  • Lead your team in negotiating Best Job 1 pricing, year-over-year cost reductions, multi-year pricing agreements, and annual TVM (Total Value Management) targets
  • Lead and manage a team of buyers to optimize delivering business results, including people development plan, career coaching and mentorship
  • Lead your team in development and execution of commodity sourcing strategies including commodity segmentation, ESF, etc.
  • Acting like a partner
  • Manage regionally driven diversity sourcing efforts (e.g. Minority Business Enterprise (MBE), Women Business Enterprise (WBE), Veteran Business Enterprise (VBE) principles, etc.) supplier relationships (where required)
  • Support the development of program targets and subsequent sourcing plans
  • Monitor financial health of supply base and addresses risks represents where necessary
  • Build positive relationships with cross-functional business partners
  • Communicating with consistency
  • Thinking value not just price
  • Lead development and implementation of supply base management strategies with a global view
  • Build positive relationships with the supply base (utilize the Supplier Relationship Framework) by:
  • Being fact based
  • Lead your team in executing E2E Cost Attack teams across your responsible supply base.
  • Support continued implementation of Category Management/Integration
  • Monitor quality of supply base and supports corrective actions where necessary


Qualifications


You'll have…


  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 5+ years of supply chain/commodity/program management experience

  • Ability to build relationships and trust across organizations to drive decisions and alignment
  • Master’s degree
  • Strong knowledge across complex sourcing processes
  • Strategic and analytical thinking to support development of effective and organized sourcing rationales and commodity strategies
  • Flexible and adaptable attitude to changing priorities
  • Strong communicator that can effectively transition from bottom-up details to concise, clear executive-level messaging
  • Strong data & analytics understanding for synthesis of complex data into clear, understandable format
  • 8+ years of supply chain/program/commodity management experience in the Automotive industry
  • Ability to interpret and translate organization needs into specific purchasing actions
  • Proactive and resourceful; comfortable with navigating ambiguity
