Purchasing Manager
Summary: CRG is partnered with an energy solutions equipment and services supplier with over 80 years of industry leadership. As a one-stop shop for equipment, services, and parts, our client prides themselves on reliability, dependability, and prompt support for retail and commercial facilities nationally. Reporting to the VP, Supply Chain, the Purchasing Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of the procurement function for the company, including the selection and assessment of vendors. Additionally, the Purchasing Manager will oversee the shipping/receiving department for the central warehouse.
Opportunity: Direct Hire
Location: Charlotte, NC
Compensation: $90,000 - $110,000 + company performance-based bonus
Responsibilities:
- Select vendors by assessing vendor capabilities, developing alternate sources as necessary, evaluating vendor performance, and negotiating price and delivery.
- Review, audit, and assist warehouses with physical inventory processes.
- Ensure purchasing documents are properly completed and that terms and conditions of purchases are appropriate.
- Assure department records including price histories are maintained to provide information on price variances.
- Recommend major purchases of materials based on anticipated changes in prices or on atypical availability situations.
- Analyze, update, and maintain authorization levels for all warehouses.
- Review new vendor contracts and negotiate necessary changes.
- Supervise and manage the purchasing and central warehouse department personnel.
- Provide recommendations to executive staff and/or sales managers regarding process improvements, new product introductions, and more.
- Establish best practices and procedures to be followed by Purchasing Specialists and other department personnel.
Qualifications:
- ERP system experience required; SAP is a plus.
- Procurement certifications are a plus.
- Strong contract negotiation skills with demonstrated ability to generate cost savings initiatives required.
- 2+ years of managerial experience required.
- 8+ years of progressive procurement/purchasing experience required.
- Experience with petroleum storage and pumping equipment is highly preferred.
- Knowledge and background in distribution is highly preferred.
- Intermediate Excel skills required.
