Course: Psychopathology and the Role of the Social Worker
This course helps students to understand and analyze common classification systems and nomenclature used by practitioners to communicate, predict, and plan interventions for individuals with serious mental disorders. The course also helps students understand diagnosis in the context of a social work and person-first perspective.
What You Will Do:
  • Facilitate weekly main discussion forums to engage students in the online classroom
  • Respond to students’ questions and emails within the established timeframes
  • Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement, and Mission of Grand Canyon University
  • Adhere to weekly grading requirements, deadlines, and timeframes
What You Will Bring:
  • Counseling OR
  • Behavioral Health OR
  • Doctorate degree in Social Work OR
    • Counseling OR
    • Psychology OR
    • Behavioral Health OR
    • Human Services OR
    • Educational Psychology or other related field
  • Psychology OR
  • Educational Psychology or other related field
  • Human Services OR
  • AND Master’s in Social Work from a CSWE-accredited program
  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
  • AND currently licensed as Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) OR
    • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
  • AND two years post-master’s social work practice experience in a clinical setting
  • AND currently licensed as Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) OR
    • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
  • Master’s in Social Work from a CSWE-accredited program
