Prospect Research Analyst I

PROSPECT RESEARCH ANALYST I, Resource Development-Prospect Research Team (2 openings), to join a team that gathers and analyzes biographic and financial information; identifies and creates philanthropic capacity ratings for prospects capable of making gifts of $100K or more; and provides actionable intelligence to further prospect cultivation and solicitation strategies. Responsibilities include researching, compiling, and analyzing detailed financial, biographical, and other publicly available information on individual prospective donors to inform fundraiser strategy; and participating in projects to identify new prospects for the Institute and its priorities. Researchers work with multiple major and principal gift fundraisers across MIT including Resource Development and the Institutes’ schools, centers, labs, and programs.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: bachelor's degree; at least two years of relevant work experience, preferably development research; good research skills and ability to analyze and synthesize information, particularly to evaluate and interpret financial data and individual wealth indicators; excellent interpersonal and written and oral communication skills; ability to meet deadlines and work under time constraints; sound judgment with confidential information; meticulous attention to detail and accuracy; and proficiency with computers, preferably Macintosh, and standard applications (including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Zoom, and PowerPoint). Must be able to collaborate, build relationships, and achieve results within a population that may possess competing interests, opinions, and/or expectations; work independently and contribute to a collaborative environment; and interact effectively with others to solicit information and prioritize work assignments.
