SET THE COURSE
This position is responsible for the project management of IT business systems projects within Tommy Bahama’s Restaurant-Hospitality division. This role will lead efforts on projects related to Restaurant Point of Sale, Payments, Food and Beverage/Inventory Management, Labor Scheduling and Analytics/Reporting. Responsibilities include full project life cycle management of initiatives (initiation through close out). A strong understanding of systems planning, design and application software integration is required. This position will work closely with Tommy Bahama Restaurant Operations, Finance, Human Resources, and IT teams to successfully deliver projects in the Restaurant IT Portfolio utilizing project management best practices.
BE THE ISLAND GUIDE
  • Facilitate and execute project retrospectives.
  • Create functional and operational documentation and transition to IT operational support teams.
  • Identify system user training needs; partner with Restaurant Operations team to design, manage and oversee delivery of user training.
  • Drive functional and technical requirements collection and prioritization with business partners and/or internal resources.
  • Manage the work of project resources to ensure successful project execution (both internal and external resources, including third-party vendors)
  • Develop strong expertise in the software and systems and play a hands-on role in testing and release activities.
  • Own meeting agendas, schedules, and outcomes.
  • Oversee the Change Control process for any changes / adjustments to overall project scope.
  • Provide regular project updates with the Core Team, Extended Business Groups, and Leadership.
  • Own the definition and prioritization of Tommy Bahama’s Restaurant/Hospitality IT project roadmap for new initiatives.
  • Define, manage and execute project quality standards and user testing.
  • Collaborate with partners/vendors to stay informed of new features/functionality that may benefit the business.
  • Develop and maintain the overall Project Plan to manage the resources and activities to the schedule and provide leadership a clear line of site on the project timeline.
  • Provide ongoing monitoring of the project budget; review, approve and track vendor invoices.
  • Manage project delivery tasks with external vendors.
  • Work closely with technology infrastructure team to detect, diagnose and remediate production issues.
  • Provide Tier II end-user support for core business applications as needed.
ESSENTIALS FOR LIFE IN PARADISE
  • Strong project management skills and experience with project management tools like MS Project or equivalent.
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills. Must be able to communicate effectively with various audiences who have different skill levels of technical competence.
  • Ability to facilitate effective meetings.
  • SQL/Python experience a plus
  • Experience working as the technical project manager overseeing the work of technical resources (software vendors, developers, functional analysts, and IT staff).
  • Able to multitask, prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience in working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment while driving decisions.
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Generally, 6+ years of progressive IT project management experience.
  • Strong decision making and escalation skills.
  • PMP Certification is a plus
  • Experience in restaurant, hotel, or hospitality industries a plus.
  • Results oriented: demonstrates a ‘can-do’ attitude – adaptability, flexibility, and resourcefulness.
  • Deadline-driven, detail oriented, analytical.
  • Demonstrated ability to listen well and understand the needs of customers, staff, management and supporting departments.
  • Experience working with Confluence, Jira, Smartsheet a plus.
  • Bachelor's Degree in IS, Business, or equivalent experience
  • Highly self-motivated and directed
  • Experience in RFPs, business systems implementations, integrations, and upgrades.
Multiple factors will vary the applicable rate of pay for this role, including an individual’s experience, knowledge, and skillset, as well as work location and available budget.
Rate Range: $ 98,670.00 - $164,450.00 USD annually
