Become a Project Manager of Continuous Improvement at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job, you’ll be responsible for managing Distribution’s Continuous Improvement & Support (CI&S) projects through implementation. The Project Execution & Implementation (PE&I) team under CI&S will combine OE Catalyst ideas and other business ideas and prioritize implementation efforts to build upon our Operational Excellence commitment. A day in the life - Get ready to think big, work smart and shine bright!

  • Lead cross-functional and interdepartmental teams to provide innovative solutions to address the strategic issues.
  • Conduct meetings (virtual or in person) to coordinate work progression.
  • Evaluate project issues for major impacts, and to ensure decisions and actions align with internal and external policies and goals.
  • Communicate with stakeholders concerning the content, planning, resource requirements, progress, and status of the project(s) objectives.
  • Manage work to be performed based on set criteria and apportions the work within the portfolio for execution.
  • Utilize mature oversight and negotiation to manage resources from internal and external organizations or departments to accomplish the work.
  • Represent the organization for catalyst ideas, initiatives, and other projects across stakeholders (Region, Planning, Engineering, etc.) and partner with key stakeholders to establish objectives and provide leadership to ensure collaboration for achievement of annual objectives.
  • Calculate and aggregate project benefit realization, budget tracking, as well as performance reporting for projects and meet CIPM’s financial and reporting responsibility.
  • Project manage (scope, schedule, budget) the projects that impact Distribution to ensure efficient management and execution of the projects will meet organization expectations and realize expected benefits, improve processes, and streamline flow of work throughout Distribution.
  • Contribute to the development of strategic plans and objectives and evaluate technical subject matter expertise for strategic short and long-range decision making from stakeholders such as Engineers, Planners, Project Managers, Construction Managers, Schedulers, Analysts and Material Coordinators on matters relating to company policy, scope, schedule, corporate and business unit goals and budget for the projects within the portfolio.
  • Propose adjustments to work plans and strategies to accomplish project goals; collecting and developing status and worklist items, trending, and performance results to align with evolving business objectives.
Qualifications


The essentials

  • 7 years or more of project management experience, including scope, schedule, and budget.

The preferred

  • Thorough and working knowledge of, and the demonstrated ability to plan, measure, monitor and take timely corrective action based on data feedback.
  • PMP, Lean Six Sigma certification or related Project Management certification strongly preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in business administration or an equivalent combination of education, related field and broad training and experience in managing key projects.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Distribution operations, business mechanics, policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including ability to foster a positive work environment and encourage teamwork, manage confidential information, drive change through influence, always works with integrity, and high level of self-awareness.
  • Thorough knowledge of Company and Distribution policies and procedures
