the job:
The Project Manager will report to the Sr Director of Procurement + Sourcing and will work highly cross-functionally with a variety of internal stakeholder across multiple departments. They will be responsible for the successful execution of projects while overseeing and managing the strategic project framework for all new brand initiatives. Success in this role will require individuals who are proactive problem solvers that can manage team dynamics, clearly communicate status, mitigate risk, and drive project deliverables to meet deadlines. This person will play a critical role in providing clarity and momentum to drive key brand initiatives in a timely and cohesive manner.
location: brooklyn, NY (Hybrid in-office/work from home schedule, with 3-4 mandatory trips per year to HQ in Brooklyn, NY which are paid by company)
salary: $110,000 - $150,000 + benefits
what you'll do
- Assess project risks and process opportunities to initiate action plans as necessary.
- Participate in special projects as needed.
- Facilitate in defining the project scope, goals, and deliverables.
- Develop and manage customized project plans and timelines.
- Project Management of all product launches to support the commercialization of the brand’s new and/or changed products, packaging, promotional launches, overseeing and facilitating all phases of the development life cycle.
- Lead weekly meetings with cross-functional teams, highlighting status, risks and deadlines.
- Resolve all timeline issues and negotiate with impacted departments to develop tactical risk mitigation plans to bring the projects back on track.
- Contribute to the development of best practices and standard work.
- Collaborate with and help drive seamless flow of communication between cross functional teams to control project changes, minimize risks, and keep the team accountable to their deliverables.
must haves
- 5+ years’ experience with 3+ years in project management (preferably in haircare, personal care, or related consumer packaged goods field)
- Flexibility and willingness to adapt to change
- Excellent team player with strong analytical, negotiating, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated accountability & ability to work independently.
- Strong project management skills and understanding of the New Product Development stage gate process - from ideation to execution
- Must be able to routinely make decisions that may affect immediate operations and have a company-wide effect
- Knowledge of MS Project, Asana, and or other leading project management tools
- Experience working with commercial teams to launch new products
- Must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point
- Must have strong written, verbal, and presentation skills with capability to influence a diverse set of audiences
- Experience in a manufacturing environment
