Apprenticeships support local community investment and help contribute towards the development of digital skills through opportunities for work and study. The program at first expanded to the U.S. from Europe in 2020. In 2021, apprentices were able to work and learn in one of three hubs in the U.S. — Atlanta, Chicago, and New York City — or at a few other selected sites. In 2022, we’ve expanded further with an additional program hub in Austin.

Core role:

Support the Apprenticeships Program Manager team in managing and maintaining the Apprenticeships program and community in Chicago, as well as operations for the entire U.S. program.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute projects in order to drive program improvements (e.g. automating or streamlining processes to gain efficiencies, identifying program/process inconsistencies and proposing solutions, researching additional learning & development opportunities for program participants, etc.)
  • Assisting administrative and documentation needs as remote program gets built out
  • Support the administrative, coordination, and community engagement needs of the program (e.g. drafting comms to participants/partners, coordinating virtual/live community events, organizing check-ins with program participants, calendaring reminders and follow-ups on program-related action items, etc.)
  • Deliver on administrative needs to support remote apprenticeships:
  • Help manage onboarding and offboarding-related tasks for each program cohort (e.g. manual data entry and tracking, monitoring equipment delivery, troubleshooting access issues, etc.)
  • Support team in organizing action items, documentation, and master plans as needed
  • Assist the Chicago Program Manager in the smooth execution of the apprenticeship:
  • Respond to questions from apprentices, their managers, and program partners with timely and clear communication

Minimum Qualifications:

- BA/BS Degree (In lieu of degree, relevant work experience)

- 1-2 years of demonstrated experience in project coordination and cross-functional collaboration

- Ability to problem-solve and effectively execute multiple projects simultaneously

- Clear written and verbal communication

Preferred Qualifications:

- Previous experience coordinating or leading diversity, equity, and inclusion-focused programs

- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive and productive working relationships

- Experience overseeing and/or executing virtual and/or in-person live events for small and large groups

- Experience with data collection and analysis

- Understanding of program development cycle
