Working across almost 50 countries with offices in 12, we’re the only animal welfare organization with UN Consultative Status, enabling us to engage with and influence global decision-makers. We prioritize animals in farming and wild animals exploited for use in entertainment, as pets, and in fashion.

  • Contribute to the strategic direction of campaign areas utilizing the information gained and analyzed through locally relevant field work and progress in innovative solutions.
  • Performance management & reporting against planned activities and objectives.
  • Develop robust plans to document via video, photography, interviews, and online research the conditions and experiences of individual animals who are suffering for food, fashion, entertainment, or pet store sales in the US.
  • Maintain knowledge of specific cases, venues, and areas where animal exploitation is occurring and identify strategic opportunities to document and expose the cruelty and harms to the public.
Responsibilities
  • Working with the Fundraising and Communications teams internally as well as with external partners, identify opportunities to tell the stories of individual animals.
  • Coordinate with other team members in effectively responding to specific, timely instances of animal exploitation, harm, or suffering in the US and abroad.
  • Connect with external groups, institutions, publications, and events to stay informed about emerging innovations in technology, business, or culture that may serve to replace current behaviors or practices that use and exploit animals.
  • Working with the Campaign Managers, Senior Campaigns Manager, and Director of Programs, identify and implement areas of potential field work in the US that will expose or further illuminate the exploitation of wild or farmed animals.
  • Oversee and monitor the work of external partners, such as academics, journalists, and local advocates, in documenting local animal exploitation.
  • Prepare internal and external materials, such as memos, reports, video, and exposés sharing the findings of field work, results of research, or updates from events relevant to the strategic direction of World Animal Protection’s campaigns.
  • Assist in gathering video, photography, qualitative content, and other documentation of animal exploitation.
