Job Description
As the VALORANT Program Manager III for China, you’re responsible for ensuring the VALORANT team is effectively serving our players in China. You will work closely with partners in Riot’s China Publishing organization, Riot’s central tech organization, and our partners at Tencent to ensure everyone is aligned on how we’re serving players. You will work closely with VALORANT product leadership to ensure that region specific needs are addressed and balance appropriately within VALORANT’s unapologetically global approach.

You should bring a proven track record of influencing across teams and products to deliver compelling experiences for your customers. You should have a deep understanding of player expectations in China. You should also build strong relationships with developers across teams at Riot and partner developer studios. If you’re succeeding at this job, VALORANT will succeed in China.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with VALORANT operations leadership to ensure that Valorant PC operates at the same or better level of quality as other regions
  • Ensure that VALORANT PC meets desired performance metrics in China
  • Serve as VALORANT’s primary representative to both Riot China and Tencent
  • Bring insights from Riot China and Tencent into the feature roadmap for VALORANT PC
  • Coordinate with Riot & Tencent publishing to ensure publishing efforts match product deliveries

Required Qualifications

  • Experience driving delivery of cross-functional programs in alignment with functional roadmaps and strategic priorities
  • Fluent in Mandarin Chinese
  • Experience effectively managing a diverse group of stakeholders across multiple companies and geographies (Tencent & Riot preferred)
  • Familiarity with project tracking software (e.g. Google Sheets, Airtable, MS Project, Trello, JIRA, Smartsheets)
  • 6+ years of experience relevant experience in program management, production or product management
  • Experience managing partnerships across language and culture
  • 3+ years of leadership experience
  • Excellent teamwork, team leadership, communication, and stakeholder management
  • Availability for at minimum quarterly travel to China to build strong relationships with Tencent and Riot Shanghai counterparts
  • Ability to time-shift schedule as needed for calls with Tencent

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with project methodologies like Scrum & Agile
  • 3+ years of game development experience
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience leading change management on large-scale programs
  • Previous program experience in a large decentralized organization
  • Experience taking games from development to launched

For this role, you'll find success through craft expertise, a collaborative spirit, and decision-making that prioritizes the delight of players. We will be looking at your past studies, experience, and your personal relationship with games. If you embody player empathy and care about players' experiences, this could be your role!
