Product Development Associate Scientist - R&D

Overview

• Support the development of global PepsiCo Flavor specifications for the Beverage category consistent with emerging business needs and priorities.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all requests are processed, documented, and delivered within defined timelines
• Communicate with all stakeholders throughout the entire spec process to address and resolve emerging issues in a timely manner
• Develop high-quality, fit-for-purpose flavor specifications for all flavor related ingredients
• Assure business expectations are met with respect to project timelines and business priorities
• Oversee the end-to-end spec writing process including supplier technical questionnaire collection, ingredient testing, spec quality parameter validation, supplier alignment, and workflow tracking
• Develop and maintain effective cross-functional relationships across internal PepsiCo teams and external partners including flavor vendors and 3rd party labs, as necessary to reach project objectives

• Prioritize and manage multiple project tasks and communicate status through maintenance of tracking logs
• Research and piece together data from various sources and draw accurate conclusions
• Communicate and highlight risks
• Learn and master complex systems and processes to deliver quality documentation
• Communicate results in an organized fashion

Critical Competencies:

The successful candidate will be experienced in the consumer goods or flavor related industry and demonstrate the following skills:

• Effective use of technology for communication, document development, and Excel spreadsheet manipulations to support project initiatives and day to day business objectives (Word, PowerPoint, MS Teams, Zoom)
• Demonstrates ability to learn and use key processes: ProductVision, Document Management, and Flavor Related Industry Standards, GC/MS related software
• Previous experience using GC/MS related software
• Collaboration and teamwork mindset to communicate and work cross functionally across multiple partners in a fast-paced environment
• Effectively manage multiple projects within time bound schedules while demonstrating strong multi-tasking, time management, and prioritization skills

Qualifications

• Previous experience using GC/MS related software
• BA/BS in Food Science or related discipline
• 1-2 years of experience in product development and or/ quality assurance
• Effective use of technology for communication, document development, and Excel spreadsheet manipulations to support project initiatives and day to day business objectives (Word, PowerPoint, MS Teams, Zoom)

Compensation and Benefits:

• The expected Compensation range for this position is between $73,000 - $78,000.
• Paid time off subject to eligibility, including paid parental leave, vacation, sick, and bereavement.
• Location confirmed job-related skills and experience will be considered in setting actual starting salary.
