Product Design Engineer Jobs

Advanced Pedestals, Ltd, a member of the Association of Rotational Molders, manufactures secondary

electrical pedestals and accessories for the Electric Utility Industry, quality agriculture products such as

lick feeders, mineral feeders, and water stock tanks, and is a custom rotational and injection molder with a

full suite of services.

Job Summary:

The Product Design Engineer is responsible for evaluating a company’s product needs and developing

products that reflect their brand or customer base. Their duties include brainstorming product ideas and

material needs with the production or sales teams, designing product blueprints using AutoCAD programs

and overseeing the manufacturing process for products.

Essential Job Functions:

• Support and improve existing product lines.
• Generate 3D CAD models, photo-realistic renderings, and prototypes to communicate designs and design intent.
• Identify and pursue continuous improvement opportunities.
• Prepare engineering drawings and technical documentation for manufacturing
• Support manufacturing through production ramp of new products

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Work history that demonstrates a strong work ethic
• Spirit.
• Experience with rapid prototyping and 3D manufacturing
• High mechanical aptitude and love of model-making and prototyping
• Strong interpersonal skills with exceptional conflict resolution attributes
• Superior understanding of mechanics and materials
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint)
• Preferred bachelor’s degree in Product Design, Engineering, Design Technology, or Mechanical Engineering
• Or tasks that are not listed within this job description but within the scope of this position.
• Proven teamwork and communication skills
• Requires a flexible and cooperative attitude, which includes when asked to perform other duties
• Exhibits objectivity and openness to others’ views and contributes to building a positive team
• 3+ years of industry experience in mechanical design
• Experience with SolidWorks CAD tools
