Fan Product Design Engineer - Mechanical

• FEA (Finite Element Analysis) and CFD experience is a plus, but not required.
• Prior design experience with thermal modules or vapor chambers is a plus.
• Fundamental knowledge of fan design and aerodynamics.
• Shown knowledge of statics and mechanical structure with a track record of realizing creative concepts.
• Prior experience in design for high volume consumer products is preferred.
• Experience with Unigraphics or SolidWorks or Creo or ProE, etc.
• 2D mechanical drawing layout experience, familiarity with GD&T or SPC or Cp/Cpk.
• Typically requires 3+ years of 3D CAD mechanical part design experience in any of the following: injection molding, stamping, forging, die casting, CNC, etc.
• Experience in prototype design is considered a plus.

You will be responsible for the detailed design of fan modules using 3D CAD and 2D drawings from the architecture phase through execution. Your responsibilities would include all aspects of our modules including Mechanical Design and DFM. We collaborate with many different groups to complete our work including Thermal Design engineers to optimize thermal modules for performance, and vendors and Tooling Engineers to ensure that implementation is in line with design intent. Your ability to communicate design concepts / results with management will get noticed. We assist in defining and reviewing meaningful tests for fan design qualification. You will work with top tier cooling fan vendors to validate and solve thermal design and aerodynamic problems, sometimes this could involve occasional travel to Asia for factory builds or in-person problem solving. Ability to review and interpret prototype test data would also be expected to accurately validate design concepts.
