Job Description
Job Responsibilities


In This Position You Will Be Responsible For The Following

  • You will ensure tax ID information is accurate and IRS documentation is complete.
  • You will process vendor add/delete requests from Field, Consumers Services and A/P to the CMS & SCEIS vendor system.
  • You will oversee the administration of the agency purchasing card program.
  • You will review and sign off on Procurement Dept. staff transactions.
  • You will provide support and training to agency staff as required.
  • You will work with agency personnel to process solicitation requests.
  • You will adjust PO dollar amounts, GLs, splits, and Grant year changes as required.
  • You will check all purchases for compliance and flag the non-compliant items.
  • You will, as required, interface with the Materials Management Office (MMO).
  • You will answer incoming calls to the Procurement main phone line, as well as respond to emails in the Procurement email inbox.
  • You will assist with coordinating the statewide procurement functions of the Agency in adherence to the laws and regulations of the SC Consolidated Procurement Code.
  • You will conduct pre-bid conferences, site visits, and award contracts to vendors, along with monitoring contracts for compliance.
  • You will consult with managers and field staff in the procurement of a variety of goods and services.


Minimum And Additional Requirements


  • Knowledge of laws and regulations governing the procurement of goods and services for a public agency.
  • Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of experience that is directly related to the procurement of goods and services.
  • Proficient with SCEIS/SAP programs.
  • Proficient in Excel and Word software.
Some “day” travel and occasional overnight travel required. Ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally. The ability to lift objects up to 25 pounds may be required.


If invited to interview, please obtain your Official 10 year driving record from the Department of Motor Vehicles to bring with you. Official transcripts will be required to verify college degree.


Preferred Qualifications


  • SC Procurement Officer Certification preferred with at least Level I obtained within first year of hire after completion of the probationary period.
