Private Equity Analyst/Senior Analyst

Our client is a diversified alternative asset management firm that is looking to add to their middle-market private equity group in Manhattan. The firm is currently investing out of a ~$850M fund and plans to raise a larger fund with for this strategy in the Q423 timeframe. This is a career track seat focused on evaluating and executing middle market private equity opportunities.

The firm is seeking a private equity investment analyst/senior analyst. The fund has a lean investment team with ~5 investment professionals including the CEO. This hire would be working directly with the partners as they evaluate and execute deals in a range of verticals, and will be involved in all aspects of the firm's investment process including origination, industry research, due diligence, modeling, and portfolio company monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Assessing and valuing prospective investment opportunities

• Modeling business plans, financial structures, and investment returns

• Participating actively in due diligence workstreams on prospective investments (e.g. financial,

commercial, ESG, tax, and legal due diligence)

• Preparing industry and competitive landscape research

• Drafting investment evaluation materials and sector / theme analysis

• The maintenance of the deal pipeline, industry overviews and valuation metrics

• Contributing to the negotiation and drafting of legal corporate documentation (e.g. financing

agreements, purchase agreements)

• Supporting portfolio companies throughout the investment period (including the planning,

execution, and monitoring of value creation initiatives)

Qualifications

• Top tier academic credentials

• 1-3 years of investment banking (M&A or coverage groups only) or private equity (investment team) experience

• Excellent analytical / financial modelling skills and deep experience with fundamental analysis
