About The Team

At Zillow Group, our mission is to ‘give people the power to unlock life’s next chapter’ and the Product team is helping to craft the long-term vision for some of our most valuable assets – our employees and partners!

This role sits in our Data Engineering organization. We own the platforms, services, products, and processes that support customer oriented, data-driven decision making. On this team, you will have the opportunity to work with internal customers to drive data products and establish foundational data which serve analytical and business stakeholders across all of Zillow.

About The Role

Looking for an opportunity to redefine real estate? We are seeking an accomplished Principal Product Manager who is passionate about solving very complex customer (internal and external) problems, and building highly impactful data solutions. You display self awareness and awareness of others to expertly handle situations and relationships across organizations. You are recognized as trusted mentor helping others grow. If you know what's needed to make data products and teams successful, understand the big picture, and are able to achieve, come join us!

This role will be helping to establish Zillow’s suite of Data Products for business reporting and analytics use cases. The scope includes gathering requirements, prioritization and execution of Data Products - source aligned, aggregate or curated consumer aligned. The other aspect of this role is serving as an evangelist for platform capabilities to enable as many teams as possible to self-serve their data production & consumption needs.

It is essential that the candidate is experienced in treating data itself as a product, working with internal customers to understand the business context and requirements with the end states in mind. The candidate should also be very comfortable working with engineers for ingestion, pipelines, data warehousing and business analytics.

In this role, you will:

  • Evangelize self-service where customers have engineers that are capable of using platform tooling to land or combine data.
  • Communicate and collaborate by articulating the “why” and "what" customer problem to solve, working with others, and balancing their point of view with solicited input of others
  • Mobilize your teams to do their best work by providing clear direction, handling dependencies, removing blockers and applying effective operating rhythms
  • Work with customers to understand their data needs.
  • Prioritize backlogs across several teams to deliver data products end-to-end
  • Inform the data strategy by understanding customer needs and technical designs of products to serve them
  • Deliver impact and results by defining success metrics, analyzing data for insights
