Job Description
Overview:
LMI is seeking an experienced developer proficient in Microsoft Power BI developer to create dashboards and reports to analyze and present data from a Microsoft Dynamics 365 Project Operations project program management system for a federal client.
Responsibilities:
The ideal candidate will have experience creating dashboards and reports using Microsoft Power BI and will be familiar with business processes and software development best practices.
  • Data loading: Extract, transform, and load data from various sources into Power BI.
  • Data modeling: Build and maintain data models, connections, and transformations.
  • Perform other official duties as assigned.
  • Multitask several competing requests by gathering effective requirements, estimating tasks, and managing priorities.
  • Provide recommendations for centralizing dashboard inventory.
  • Be a proactive, solution-oriented self-starter with the ability to quickly assemble the big picture.
  • Performance optimization: Use best practices to tune queries and implement efficient data models to improve performance.
  • Actively participate in agile software development activities, including sprint planning, daily standups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Dashboards:
    • Develop dashboards that monitor, measure, analyze, and extract insights for data-driven decision-making.
    • Provide recommendations for centralizing dashboard inventory.
  • Documentation: Document Power BI development, administration, and best practices.
  • Data security: Implement security measures and access controls to meet compliance standards.
  • Develop dashboards that monitor, measure, analyze, and extract insights for data-driven decision-making.
  • DAX calculations: Create and manage complex DAX calculations, measures, and KPIs.
  • Work with a team of technology experts to leverage Microsoft Power BI as part of a new Project Program Management (PPM) system using MS Dynamics 365 Project Operations.
Qualifications:
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, computer science, management information systems, engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience with Microsoft SharePoint development.
  • 10+ years of experience in the software development field, with at least 3+ years of hands-on experience developing Microsoft Power BI, including knowledge of both Power Query and DAX.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to gather and translate Agile user stories to technical solutions and implement those requirements.
  • Willingness to obtain a USPS security clearance, if requested.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:
  • Proficient in developing MS PowerApps - Canvas Apps, enabling the creation of custom business applications.
  • Experience working in a consultant/client environment.
  • Power BI Certification
  • Experience working as part of an agile software development team.
  • Experience in both MS Project Online and MS SharePoint.
