Darling Ingredients is seeking a Plant Maintenance Lead to join our maintenance team at our plant located in Ward, SC. This is a pivotal role where you will be responsible for supervising the plant maintenance staff, programs and processes in order to ensure safe, timely and efficient operation of all plant machinery and equipment.

We are hiring for our 1st shift, rotating 12-hour shifts.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• You will be responsible for supervising plant maintenance staff.

If you have the following, we want to hear from you:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• 2+ years Supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment focused on process improvement.
• Strong computer application skills in a network environment.
• Critical thinking skills, problem solving, strategy development, and implementation experience required.
• Two to four-year college or university program degree in relevant Engineering discipline (mechanical, electrical, chemical or food processing), Industrial Management or other technical discipline required.
• Strong mechanical and electrical skills.
• Experience implementing predictive/preventive maintenance programs.
• Strong interpersonal skills, ability to build relationships at all levels and maintain a positive working environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensures that periodic and preventive maintenance are accomplished according to the Maintenance Manager’s direction.
• Monitors and continually improves maintenance processes and maintenance personnel performance to achieve enhanced levels of efficiency.
• Oversees maintenance staff by observing work performance and assisting as necessary.
• Supervises the staff, processes and activities for maintaining all plant machinery to ensure safe, continual and efficient operation.
• Expected to perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands:

• Standing, bending and stooping for the majority of the shift.
• Must be able to climb stairs, stand for extended periods of time, and safely lift up to 50 pounds.
• Work at heights by climbing stairs and ladders with proper PPE.

Working Environment:

• Must be willing to work all shifts including over-time and weekends as needed.
• Strong odors.
• Hot and wet environment.
