Salary Range: $75,000 per year

Job Purpose: Directly supervise and coordinate the activities of maintenance personnel; schedules work assignments and maintain maintenance inventory and service records.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Direct workers to maintain fans (Venting and Condensing) for the plant.
  • Must keep up-to-date records of all services to all machinery, and schedule time and dates for any major mechanical work
  • Will be required to work with water lines, high pressure steam pipes, hydraulic hoses, welding, cutting (plasma & torch) and brazing.
  • Must review all maintenance logs and supplies and communicate with Plant Manager on the need to order additional supplies, keep the Plant Manager apprised on progress on maintenance jobs, and alert the Plant Manager to ongoing or potential maintenance related issues.
  • Responsible for supervision of plant related projects.
  • Must delegate tasks to different shifts and follow up on progression of tasks.
  • Ensure that the plant and all equipment are maintained in an orderly and clean condition.
  • Assist the Plant Manager with ordering plant equipment and parts, including researching and evaluating different options, placing orders, and communicating with vendors and contractors throughout the process.
  • The Supervisor will be responsible for reviewing and approving time off requests and hours worked. Will work closely with the Plant Manager on employee disciplinary issues.
  • Must have the organizational skills to maintain and organize a spare parts inventory.
  • Must be able to maintain all major pieces of equipment, including the boiler, cookers, and presses, and troubleshoot issues.
  • Supervise and direct all maintenance personnel and enforce company policies, procedures and enforce safe work practices.
  • Keep up regular attendance and punctuality; regular attendance and punctuality are essential for the smooth operation of this company.
  • Must maintain and keep a record of all plant inventory, including parts, motors, tools, and machinery.
  • Will be required to respond to after hour emergencies as they occur.
  • Must work with the Plant Manager in regards to maintaining any regulatory documents for equipment.
  • Oversees the completion of the OSHA checklist and assists the Plant Manager with OSHA inspections and follow up.
  • Interact with others in a professional and ethical manner.
  • Must able to direct repairs and work on hydraulic equipment.
  • Follow department and company procedures.
  • Must learn and be able to troubleshoot issues with equipment and machinery used throughout the plant.
  • This position is involved in and makes recommendations but does not perform employee terminations or hiring.
  • Must be able to direct work on the installation and removal of heavy machinery and equipment.
  • Maintain boiler daily operations to include water quality testing, safety checks and boiler chemical supplies.
  • Must conduct inspections with regulatory bodies, for insurance purposes, or as otherwise requested by management or Baker Corporate.
  • Must be able to direct others to repair gear drives.
  • Performs other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective operation of the business. These responsibilities may change from time to time as business needs change over time.
