The Opportunity
Are you an experienced Electrician looking for a new challenge? We are seeking a skilled individual to join our team at the Nederland ChemTreat facility. As our Maintenance Electrician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with established electrical maintenance requirements and procedures. You’ll also have the opportunity to take on a variety of other tasks, from installing PVC pipe to repairing pumps and other equipment. You'll work closely with facility and plant management to ensure that our operations are running smoothly and efficiently. Responsibilities
- Comply with company safety policies including safe operation of equipment, PPE usage, hand tool safety, lock-out-tag-out, and proper storage of tools, etc. and compliance with good housekeeping policies
- Participate in corrective and preventative action practices as it relates to product quality, plant safety, environmental and DOT compliance with awareness of ChemTreat’s EMS policy and procedures
- Manage contractors when an outside vendor is utilized
- Identify and properly handle hazardous waste
- Accurately perform required computer data entry with strong attention to detail. Report complicated equipment malfunctions to supervisors
- Maintain visual management office supplies; clean and organized work area
- Utilize and develop Cat5e / data best practices, punch down and testing
- Assist with plant wide preventative maintenance program emphasizing on electrical issues and needs. Maintain equipment according to work instructions or preventive maintenance tasks
- Handle general maintenance and repair of all types of specialized equipment specific to plant operations with working understanding of instrumentation
- Cross-train on other equipment, crafts, or other areas
- Suggest improvements supporting kaizen and continuous improvement activities
- Troubleshoot of all current and future electrical at the site, including all low voltage controls circuits, MCC’s, VFD’s, motor starters, and holding circuits
- Design / Build / Cost Analysis / Implementation of future electrical projects as needed
- Participate in team meetings, which include planning daily work and resource utilization, problem solving, project work, etc.
Requirements
- Previous experience operating a forklift and Mobile Elevated Work Platform (MEWP) required
- Master Electrician License or Associate’s Degree/Trade School certification in Electrical/Instrumentation/Controls Technician preferred
- High school diploma with 3-5 years experience in an industrial environment required
WORKING CONDITIONS & ENVIRONMENT
- This is a specialty chemical blending and packaging facility where hazardous materials are present.
- Contact lenses may not be allowed in some areas.
- Will be subjected to moving mechanical parts, electrical currents, vibrations, fumes, odors, dusts, gases, chemicals, oils, extreme temperatures and work space restrictions.
- Required to wear the proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) which may include: eye, hearing and respiratory protection, protective apron, steel toe shoes, gloves, hard hats, or face shields.
- The noise level in the work environment is occasionally loud.
