Job Description

This position is 5 days in the office.


The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for: new hires, terminations, status changes, tax changes, deductions, direct deposits, time sheet data, rate changes, retroactive adjustments and special pays. The successful candidate will post entries to journals and ledgers; prepare tax deposits and reports; generate accurate paychecks; and research issues and produce special reports.


Essential Job Functions

  • Reconciliation and reporting on payroll tax issues
  • Prepare payroll for year end closing
  • Liaising with staff on payroll related matters
  • Reconciliation of all payroll accounts on a biweekly basis
  • Prepare and post biweekly payroll journals
  • Check invoices from payroll
  • Processing terminations from payroll; assisting with terminations calculations including redundancy
  • Liaise with HR on payroll related matters and benefits for deduction purposes
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Managing the payroll for the company
  • Process commission and all bonus payments and merit increases
  • Prepare monthly payment schedule (net pay, tax,)

  • Ability to effectively prioritize problems and manage multiple requests/expectations at once
  • Regular and frequent inter-action and communication with vendors and other employees, requiring strong inter-personal and written/verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to interact with internal customers by providing support via phone, web, and email; as well as team-oriented interaction
  • Self-starter, ability to work with minimal supervision and attention to detail is a must.
  • Requires ability to handle highly confidential company and payroll information with appropriate level of professionalism and sensitivity.
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communications skills and internal customer relations skills
  • Proven technical problem-solving ability
  • Attention to detail and ability to adhere to deadlines.


Education And Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or business administration preferred or equivalent experience
  • Ceridian Dayforce Payroll experience required.
  • Requires understanding of payroll concepts, practices and procedures.
  • 3 years of relevant payroll experience
  • Microsoft Word and Excel experience required.
